what is the most unusual name you have heard irl?

Heard today:-

Spring-rose

At the doctors the other day was deliah-rose. Thought it was a misspell for Delilah but then maybe it's Delia?

And the when I worked in a nursery there was a little boy called deneil. Not too bad you say, till you knew his older brother was called Neil Hmm

I know a Persephone and an Indigo. I suppose not massively unusual but the town I live in is awash with the Harry's, Archie's and Ellie's of this world Smile

Fódhla pronounced Foal a. It is Irish and I am normally good with Irish names but this one was new to me until yesterday.

Cornelious is very popular in some parts of Ireland too, almost always shortened to Con.

A friend went to school with a Lancelot, with the surname Raspberry, but she may have been kidding Grin

And another friend is friends with a married couple named Kate and Sidney Pye which I LOVE.

My mums friends gardeners sisters friends dog sitters aunties friend once taught a L-a. Honest.

I did once her someone calling her son in a public toilet Dar-Dar. His name was Darwin.

Ptolemy is a great name.

I have a friend who invented a unique name for her DS. Completely invented. I actually quite like it.

I've met a Diesel too and I once met a girl called Precious but the spelling surprised me (Prayshus).

When I was growing up, every second boy was called Cornelius (usually shortened to Con).

My own daughter has a name most people have never encountered before - but she shortens it to something very usual (got tired of the "what oh that's lovely" comments).

DS's old nursery (many years ago) had children called Blade and Bobbi-Peace. I actually secretly liked Bobbi-Peace Grin..thought it was quite cute, and quite funny that the parents insisted on him being called Bobbi-Peace, not just Bobbi.

Grew up with some twins from Jamaica called Sugar and Sweetie. Always wondered how they're sweet names panned out for them as adults.

There was a toddler called Nero at my doctor's recently.

And I came across a family who'd put royal titles as part of their children's first names.

There are a lot of unusual names where I live though...it seems trendy round here to make up names so that they're (theoretically) 100% unique.

Was that one upthread Ambolynn as in sounds like Anne Bolyn? [Shock] (Forgive my doubtless poor spelling).

I know a loola but she spells it Lula. It doesn't seem particularly weird to me (no more than Lila).

Thywill. As in Bedone. I shit you not...I quite like the Marvellous, Blessing etc names out there but Thywill is too much imo.
Also Bishop and Daysee.

Ah I know a loola. My mum thought I had missheard and kept correcting me to lola but no it was a loola
