Overdue with boy no2 - help distract me with name advice!

To distract me from prospect of another hospital induction what do you think of these names?
Rowan
Jago
Conrad
Frankie (Frances, I guess)
Joss
Lorcan
Douglas

Think Rowan is my only realistic first name from the above (seasonal, nature etc. Also like Cedar and Aspen from tree names but probably too faddy for me). I love Conrad but not sure I can do that to a child! Also love Joss but we have a short surname. Think Jago is good for middle name?

Last time I had an actual list, and then we chose a name that wasn't on it (Alex/ander).

Any preferences? X

I like Jago, Conrad, Joss (maybe short for Jocelin/Joscelin?) and Douglas.

Lorcan is ok, as is Frankie, but the male spelling is usually Francis rather than Frances.

I prefer Rowan on a girl.

I love Conrad and Frankie.

Lorcan and Jago are a bit harsh-sounding.

Joss - People will immediately think of girls e.g. Joss Stone.

Rowan and Douglas - On the fence.

Rowan- sounds female to me
Jago- Interesting, not bad
Conrad- Rather stern sounding perhaps
Frankie (Frances, I guess)- I think female again
Joss- as above
Lorcan- not keen
Douglas- my favorite

Your names made me think of another- Jared?

Lorcan is my favourite boys name in the world - it was on the list for every one of my three daughters Grin. That and Dominic.

Rowan - Atkinson, Mr Bean
Jago - a bit trendy
Conrad - too overtly posh for me
Frankie - like, short for Francis
Joss - Stone, girls name
Lorcan - not keen
Douglas - don't like

I like Aspen too, and don't think it's "faddy". I don't know of any little Aspens.

Francis Aspen, Frankie for short.

Thanks guys. Don't really mind the unisex name thing - think Rowan and Joscelin were both originally boys' names that crossed over.

Also like Max but we've got an Alex and don't want to over-use Xs. Husband is Irish but don't particularly like lots of Irish boys' names. I do love Scottish names though (Hamish - another one I couldn't really being myself to name a child Grin)

Very very definitely Frances is the female spelling, Francis the male.
Just thinking about someone who called her son Joelle by accident.

With the Irish connection how about Dara - it means oak so you get the nature, seasonal bit in too?
Lorcan is a lovely name.

Soren was on the list at one point too - maybe bcse I love Seren for a girl. Anyway, I'm not going through this bloody induction business again so there won't be any girls for me!

No sign yet - 8 days overdue now and was 17 over for the first one... Xx

There is a Conrad in my DDs class so he is four and it is a perfectly normal and acceptable name. So I like that. I also love Jago from your list x

For the Irish connection how about Seamus (sort of sounds like Hamish which you like)?

Conrad is awesome by the way. On our shortlist which is similar to Conrad is Corran (a village in west coast of Scotland)

Rowan is my favourite but then I would say that as I have one!

There's actually about 5 times as many male Rowans as there are female if the stats are anything to go by (and they are).

I also like Francis, I'm thinking of that for DS2. Frankie is a cute nn.

Douglas is cute but Doug (which he will inevitably be to his peers) is a bit ugly imo.

Rowan - not a an, it's a bit wet imo, and always seemed more of a girls name to me. Plus the Mr Bean thing.
Jago - reminds me of the parrot in Aladdin - Iago I think?)
Conrad - love
Joss - as in Stone. No. What about Josh?
Frankie - if the full name is Frank, I like this
Lorcan - love
Douglas - quite like

Ruairi or Rory would bridge the Irish/Scottish thing nicely. Also love Alistair.
