Heard this one in the playground last week

Lady I assume was mum calling "dan" which sounded mire like "den"

Then the little guys mate turned up shouting "hi Denver"

Different, but I don't think I would would use it.

I quite like it but it reminds me of that awful book Denver by the Mr Benn writer, with the feckless poor who can't be trusted with money and the rich who are there by the grace of God.

DS was at nursery with a Kentucky (girl) in New Jersey.

I thought it was more of a boys name personally!

A distant relative has just had a Brandon. Which is fairly acceptable as a name but I live very near to a place named Brandon (it's a very unpleasant place in many ways) and to me, it's like calling a baby Crouch End.

I know a Denver in RL. An adult man. It really wouldn't have occurred to me that it was a girls name (I'm not wild about surnamey names anyhow).

I met a little toddler called Hudson yesterday similar vibe I like it but I wouldn't use it I prefer traditional names but made a change from all the Freddie's and Noah's round here.

My dc went to a church group with a little girl called Denver in the last week of the summer holidays.

I'd never heard it before that. Its different. I don't mind it.

I really like it, but I have a soft spot for place names and Denver is a gorgeous city.

That said, not sure I would be brave enough to use it.

So it's in the American sounding place name or surname, ending in er, trend. Not one I've heard before. No strong feelings either way.
