We know it's a girl, due December!

So far, it's between:

Georgia
Dascha
Marina
Amber

Middle name will be Rose Jude.

Short, two syllable surname that sounds a bit like onion...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MamaDuckling · 21/09/2015 11:19

I think Dashsa/Dascha can be spelled either way, but I'm leaning away from it at the moment (December reindeer connotations!)

Marina!

fleurdelacourt · 21/09/2015 11:58

Marina and Georgia both lovely and underused.

(Amber tainted for me by one particularly unpleasant child from school....)

KoalaDownUnder · 21/09/2015 12:02

Marina.

Dascha does make me think of reindeer.
Don't like Georgia, and it's overused (although maybe not in the UK)
Amber is a bit doggy.

chootalkinboutWillis · 21/09/2015 12:35

I don't get Marina. Why would you want to name a little girl after a boat parking lot?

KoalaDownUnder · 21/09/2015 13:09

Marina is a v normal girls' name in Germany. I think it's pretty.

Rosaaa · 24/09/2015 18:47

I like both Marina and Georgia

Narp · 24/09/2015 18:49

Marina is my favourite. However I prefer Serena

Amber second

Don't like the other two, sorry

mathanxiety · 24/09/2015 19:45

Would you consider Darina -- a popular Irish name in the 60s/70s?

MamaDuckling · 24/09/2015 21:11

Serena/Seren yes, Darina probably not... Even though DH has Irish on his side, I think it sounds a bit made up... Not saying it is, but just that it's v v unusual!
I think Georgia is still my fave, but need to convince DH she won't become a Georgie.

Rainbowsurf · 24/09/2015 21:34

Marina just reminds me of the Mirena coil. Sorry!

nicknamenoname · 24/09/2015 22:00

I like Marina or Georgia.

I don't think you can guarantee that a Georgia won't become a Georgie/George, but you could try to head it off by using the nn Gigi at home and hoping it sticks.

MamaDuckling · 26/09/2015 16:24

We love nn Gigi so would definitely use that at home. Going off Marina since someone mentioned the coil!

myotherusernameisbetter · 26/09/2015 17:09

Marina (or preferably Marissa or Meredith)

Flumplet · 26/09/2015 17:12

Say Marina and think coil, even though it's different, sorry. And Dascha like the reindeer? I like Georgia and Amber very much though.

manicinsomniac · 26/09/2015 17:51

Love Amber

Quite like Georgia though much prefer Georgina and Georgie

Don't like Marina

Dascha I've never heard but def makes me think of the reindeer.

MamaDuckling · 26/09/2015 17:52

Love Marissa and Meredith, but both feel a bit of a mouthful with our surname (also M). Def steering away from Marina now

OP posts:
myotherusernameisbetter · 26/09/2015 18:28

Amarys?

TravellingHopefully12 · 28/09/2015 11:57

I love Dascha - it has something urgent and vital about it. A girl who embraces life.

Sophronia · 30/09/2015 16:44

Marina is lovely.

RiverTam · 30/09/2015 16:47

Georgia

(I agree about the spelling of Dasha, btw. Like Misha (Mikhail) and Sasha (Alexander).)
