A brother for Artemisia

Originally it was going to be Lucian...yep we are those parents. But we got cold feet and decided it was too wanky even for us. (I love Lucian to any Lucian owners, but we thought in combination with Artemisia, it was a bit...hmm)

So then, after much discussion, the only name we could agree on, was Milo. But we have now come across, not one, not two, but THREE dogs called Milo. Apparently it is in the top ten dog names in the UK. This has... put us off. And we don't like Miles.

Names I like, which DH has roundly rejected:

Tobias
Marcus
Sebastian
Casper
Silas
Felix

Anyone got any good suggestions, before we name our son this generation's equivalent of Rex?

I am 39+6 and getting a bit worried that we seem to have NO candidates. DH has been totally unable to come up with any suggestions.

Ediepop, I'm about to marry one of the names you've chosen! Excellent choices!

How is Artemisia?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 02/10/2015 14:37

Aw, congratulations! I was just going to offer up Fabian when I realised how long this thread was and that you were likely to have popped by the end, so kept going and there he is!

Funnily, Anthony came into my head about halfway through too - must have subliminally entered my mind without me consciously reading it or something - lovely names!

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 02/10/2015 14:36

Yay - baby Benedict. Lovely! (and ouch!)

JasperDamerel · 02/10/2015 14:30

Oh, what a lovely name. Sniff his little head for me.

myotherusernameisbetter · 02/10/2015 14:18

Awwww - beautiful name for a beautiful boy. If you were near me (Scotland) I'd be round in a trice otherwise can you give his soft little cheek a gentle stroke for me? I feel like I've become an Aunt again today, I feel very attached to a child who I will probably never see, born to parents I don't know - I'm a big sap. :o

Snoopadoop · 02/10/2015 14:16

Congratulations! Benedict is a lovely name. :)

ediepop · 02/10/2015 14:04

And Flowers to myotheruser whose suggestion Benedict was. You are officially invited round for a cuddle. Smile

Thank you everyone! I am not entirely sure how I did it. I think not knowing exactly how massive he is was key, otherwise I never would have believed I could.

Anyway....drumroll...he is officially: Benedict Lucian Anthony Grin. I hope you all approve...and if you don't, do me a favour and keep it to yourself. Feeling an eeny weeny bit fragile today, as you might imagine!

Congratulations!! A Home Birth with an 11lber. You should be on 'How do they do that?'

I LOVE Isamabard! I almost want another ds, but not quite enough (already got 2).

David could work now (it was the Hulk's real name) and a side reference to Goliath.

LaContessaDiPlump · 02/10/2015 10:12

Barry Colin Trevor Pop has that certain something.... congratulations op!!

I thought DS2 was massive until he was born, because of the size of the kicking feet under my ribcage.... turned out that he had massive flipper feet like mummy attached to a tiny body.

Hufflepuffin · 02/10/2015 10:05

Congratulations!! I vote for isambard.

scifisam · 02/10/2015 10:00

Congratulations, and ouch!

Magnus is a lovely name! Good idea. And I know a man called Magnus who is not enormous, and it fits fine.

myotherusernameisbetter · 02/10/2015 09:42

I actually thought of Magnus when I heard how big he was - but he may not stay big - I obv have no idea how big OP and her DH are - Magnus doesn't really work if he is likely to be 5'2" and delicate :)

JasperDamerel · 02/10/2015 09:20

You could call him after a giant!
Nimrod, Atlas or Athos are all good names for big babies.

I hope you are all enjoying lovely baby snuggles and that you are feeling well.

Happy new baby day!

JasperDamerel · 02/10/2015 09:16

Congratulations! It's DS's birthday today, also born at home with a sister with a very unusual artist-inspired name. I sometimes think I should have called him either Clovis or Constantine, so those are my two suggestions for today (although Benedict Alexander would very very nice, too). The name I actually called him was meaningful to us, but if you used it now everyone would assume you were very devoted to the leader of the Labour Party. I have pretty much outed myself now, so had better go and think up a new name.

daisydalrymple · 02/10/2015 08:35

Ahh, fantastic news! Welcome baby Barry Grin 11lb!!! That name better be a good one!

LadyLuck81 · 02/10/2015 08:33

Yay. While thread read and I get a BA. Congratulations on the arrival of your baby boy.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/10/2015 08:04

Congratulations! 11lb. You must be exhausted!

Enjoy your snuggly newborn cuddles. Flowers

myotherusernameisbetter · 02/10/2015 07:48

Oh wow! Massive congratulations all round. Wishing you all many happy memories and good times. Xxxx
