I stupidly told dm what I planned to call ds2

I just can't keep secrets! She frowned and suggested a load of other names and now I'm doubting my choice. Argh!

Ds1 has a slightly unusual name (often either praised on mn or slated for being too 'aspirational'), so wanted something slightly more run of the mill for ds2. I love Rupert but considering my very northern, wc pil can barely bring themselves to say ds1's name we decided to compromise and choose Rowan.

Having stupidly told dm the name I'm now doubting myself. It's alright isn't it? And wouldn't sound too odd with a sibling with a slightly unusual name?

Love rowan but it rhymes with my surname so couldn't have it!
Is your older ds called Tarquin? Wink

DS was very nearly a Rowan, it's a lovely name :)

Rowan is a lovely name. Well done.

It's a lovely name and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Don't listen!!!! Ignore, go with what you want. My whole family persuaded me out of DC1s first choice name and I regret it big time. My dad and Fil actually try to call DC2 by his middle nameShock they were so disappointed by my choice. However it's no ones fucking business as as long as your not going for Fangomuckspunkpants I'd go ahead.

Rowan is a lovely name, ignore the comments.

My DM tried her hardest to talk me out of my son's name. It's a dog's name apparently. I loved it though and no other comments were made once it was official.

It's a beautiful name. Don't doubt your decision. If you love it, then it's the right name for your DS. If however, you really prefer Rupert, go with that. Every name we considered and discussed with parents, mine suggested alternatives such as John or Mary. I didn't share the actual names we came up with and everyone loves them.
