I'm glad you're not considering the full BC name. My Tom really hates the fact he's called Thomas as we have only ever used it when he's in trouble. Blush

They'll get over it Boobie2 and your son will have a name that you love. If Ned is your favourite, go for it! Really don't think you'll regret it Smile. Oh, and an extra advantage is it's easy for them to write when the time comes (mine is 4)!

Tom - good solid name. Thomas always sounds a bit weedy in comparison

Finley - I like Finn but don't like Finley/Finlay nearly as much

Ned - meh. Sounds like a tragedy bound farm worker in a Thomas Hardy novel.

More love for Ned than I expected. BakingBunty - I imagine my grandparents to have the same horrified response if I use Ned or Tom as the full name. Ned is my favourite of the 3 names.

Tom - ditto, I know so many.

Ned - love it, although it's quite common around these parts.

Hi OP, great choices! I have a Ned Smile. Not nn, that's his official name, much to my grandmother's horror! I absolutely love it, have never had any regrets, everyone seems to respond really well to it. I also love my DDs name, but not as passionately.
Also very keen on Tom, it's my DB's name.
But I say go for Ned. Such a cool name, unusual but not in a pretentious way (ok, I'm biased!).

Another vote for Tom here.

I've got one (Thomas on BC but always gets called Tom). I was worried about popularity as it was the number 2 name when he was born but there have never been any others in his year (60 kids) at primary school. He's just gone up to high school and he's still the only Tom in his class.
