Stella?

This is our current front-runner for DD (DC2). I have some Greek heritage and DS also has a Greek-inspired but not too unusual in England name.

Do you immediately think of McCartney? Or that new TV show? Is it a problem if you do?

I like the name, I prefer it to any other that we've come up with BUT I'm not 100% certain somehow... TIA

Amazing name classic, underused and elegant, go for it OP!

ThursdayLastWeek · 14/09/2015 07:32

I can definitely get past the lager associations! I love it OP.

shoelovingfinn · 13/09/2015 22:44

Stella is cool. Super cool.

Comingroundthemountain · 13/09/2015 22:31

Love it - don't think of the lager. Only reason I didn't use it was I have a lisp.

DoloresLandingham · 12/09/2015 20:46

I love it, and its meaning, but I can't get past the lager associations.

Rose58 · 12/09/2015 18:28

It's perfect!! We love it and used it for our Cat who sadly died and we now feel like we can't use it!!

Crumbelina · 11/09/2015 20:49

Oi! My middle name is Stella - I love it. Smile

BikeRunSki · 09/09/2015 18:37

I guess it friends on whether your friends are all great big lushes OP.

maybebabybee · 09/09/2015 16:49

Afraid I just think of lager too...

TwmSionCati · 09/09/2015 16:48

" Stella is the kind of girl who wears her boyfriend's leather jacket and gets in bar fights."

Definitely Grin just like my DD....wish I had called her that now, it would have suited her!

GummyBunting · 09/09/2015 16:46

Stella is the kind of girl who wears her boyfriend's leather jacket and gets in bar fights.

TwmSionCati · 09/09/2015 16:45

lovely as a name, but what about the beer ('wife beater')?
How about Estelle or Estrella?

pilates · 09/09/2015 16:43

Dislike and yes I think of the beer.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 09/09/2015 16:41

I went to school with a Stella. She was uptight and miserable.

If I heard it for a baby I'd assume the parents liked the lager I'm afraid.

WhiteHairReally · 09/09/2015 15:39

Love it but it didn't go with our surnames. Elegant and not 'try too hard' . I think Johnnie Boden's youngest is a Stella.

nooka · 09/09/2015 05:45

Makes me think of my mother's lovely friend now in her late 70s and my friends little girl who is four. Both are feisty and fun (especially the little one).

PigletJohn · 08/09/2015 22:56

I have an old friend whose middle name is Stella, family is Italian so I thought perhaps that's where it came from. It only makes me think of stars.

Enkopkaffetak · 08/09/2015 22:55

I think it is pretty and it makes me think of stars.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 08/09/2015 22:55

Sorry I think of the beer. Really really want to like it, but just can't get past the beer.
It's very popular around here (london) at a children's party yesterday there where 4 little girls called Stella!

AuntieStella · 08/09/2015 22:51

I would think of the lager. It's why it's in my MN name.

CelestiaLuna · 08/09/2015 22:50

I know a beautiful Little girl called Stella and because of knowing her, I personally never think about the lager association. Her younger sister is Greta.

Junosmum · 08/09/2015 21:52

Fosters, Becks, kronenberg, Peroni. Stella is a beer.

Bondixx · 07/09/2015 22:55

I like it a lot - subtly classic and it means 'star'! What little girl wouldn't love to be called this!

whatdoIget · 07/09/2015 20:38

I like it but know too many pissheads people who drink Stella

Fannyupcrutch · 07/09/2015 20:32

Yep, shameless and lager. Sorry OP :(
