The name Sienna. Did you know that..

As well as being an Italian city, it is also a colour - reddish/orangey brown.

The reason I ask is because we've had a U-turn with names and now love Sienna again but our surname is Brown. I've purposely stayed away from colour names (eg Scarlett) for that reason but do you think people actually know Sienna is a colour?

Interested to know your thoughts as you've all been so helpful with my previous posts. I'm now 8 days overdue - eek!!! Confused

Sienna Brown sounds silly.

yeh, at school brown paint was called burnt sienna, so, to me when it emerged as a name, it reminded me of the musty art room

Yes, I think most people know sienna is a colour. But I don't think Sienna Brown sounds bad.

Yes, Burnt Sienna is well known. The Tuscan city is Siena, rather than Sienna, though.

DD loved the Cadson family books; all the kids are named after paint colours.

Yup - fairly well know that it's a colour. Sorry. I'd avoid that one. It is probably named after the city as the houses are all that colour.

Yes I would think of the artists colour. I'm not just saying that, I've said it before in one of my old posts.

Whether that makes it a name to avoid, when combined with surname, is up to you. It's not too bad I think

Yes, I did know that. I'd avoid Sienna Brown. Sounds like a description of brown tbh.
