I am finally down to 2 names:
Eva or Imogen
but really can't decide, change my mind every day!

I think there are a lot of eva varients but not sure how bothered i would be (being one of many emmas growing up didnt really bother me). It's my nan's name which is nice too.

Not sure i would like it if imogen was shortened or if a lot of people pronounced wrong all the time, would you say it's a bit of a faddy name that will go out of fashion?

I think Imogen is set ti become more popular. Evies have probably had their peak. Eva is a lovely classic name.

I know a lovely woman called Eva (partly why I am Eva on here) and I knew an Imogen at school who was a cow. Biased, much!

I have an Imogen it is a beautiful old name which Shakespeare invented, it was Innogen before then,he saw it written down and throught the nn as an m so Imogen was made!

Thank-you everyone, I change my mind so often, i was tilting towards eva yesterday when i posted but by evening i was almost convinced imogen haha
Our surname is Fox so i do think imogen sounds better with it. Imogen ay also be better as an adults name aaaarrrrgghhhhh

Sounds like you love Eva, so use that!
Imogen imo is fussy sounding, I really dislike it.

Imogen is a beautiful name.

Eve/Eva is hugely popular, so I wouldn't use it.

I've got an Eve, nothing faddy about it it's the oldest name in the book! It's timeless! Not as keen on Eva but prefer it to Imogen.

Imogen. We have an imogen and im the only one who really shortens it, to imo or ginny. To the rest of the world its just imogen. I've actually only ever met one other imogen. Its more common in some areas over others.

Eve Evie Eva Ava. Every other little girl where I live. With May as a second name, or if you're really out there, Mai.

I really like both. Imogen would have been in my shortlist if DC2 had been a girl... I don't think its faddy. However I also like Eva. IMO it's also not faddy. I know one who's 3 and the other two I know (well one is actually Eve) are in their 30's. I don't think it's as common as a lot of people say (at least not where I am in London). Sorry I'm not helping - they're both lovely names!

Eva is a lovely name. Yes it's popular, but for good reason.

I don't like Imogen.

Love Imogen, it was top of my list for DD2 but DH vetoed. I'm still gutted.
I like Eva, I do know a lot of children with Eve/Evie/Eva variants but if that doesn't bother you then go for it.

I prefer Eva. Only know if one around here (pronounced Evah). But none if the 'popular' names seem popular where I am!

Both lovely but I also vote for Imogen, there are sooooi many Eva/Evies around her but not so many Imogens.

I think both names are lovely. I like imogen a bit more and I have only heard it shortened to immy which is fine.btw I have never let anyone shorten my name, not even at school so if they don't want it shortened it doesn't have to be. Chose the name you like and don't care if it's popular or not.

Both are nice but Imogen has the edge for me. Imogen sounds like a cultured, intelligent, sensitive child.

I vote Imogen. Both names are lovely, but Imogen is more timeless; I've known several across different age groups. Eva is currently very fashionable but in my youth was considered a 'granny name'. Also, there are loads of Evas, Avas, and Evies at the moment.

I much prefer Imogen to Eva, but although I agree it is timeless it is also rather zeitgeisty atm and will date her to a degree if you use it - but tbh I don't think that matters too much (I also have a timeless-but-very-popular-in-a-particular-period name).

I prefer Eva too. It's less popular where I am, I only know of one. I know of loads of Imogens. I do think it's a lovely name too but I'm not too keen on the shortenings. I know an Imo, Mo, Ims, Immy and Mo-mo.

I'll go against the grain and say go for Eva. It sounds like you prefer it and I like the family connection.
