Angelica, Angelina or plain old Angela?

What do you think? I think our favourite is Anglica, though I find myself warming more to Angela and I think it could be pretty and fresh? I wonder if Angela is still too outdated at the moment?

Angela.

YonicScrewdriver · 28/08/2015 22:58

I like Angela

YonicScrewdriver · 28/08/2015 22:57

Angelique pronounced how, though? The French way will have an "onj" not an "anj" sound.

leghoul · 28/08/2015 22:50

Second thoughts, think I prefer Angela or Evangeline as it's more timeless

leghoul · 28/08/2015 22:49

Evangeline or Angelina, nn Eva or Lina or Angie etc
lots of potential.
Angela is nice if you don't pronounce it like Anjerlurh..

RingDownRingUp · 28/08/2015 22:41

Angelique?

WishIWasWonderwoman · 28/08/2015 22:40

I would say Angela, I don't think it's too dated but I do immediately think Merkel for a second!

Angelica and Angelina ( ballerina ) seem quite young to me, I can imagine someone up to say 25 with the name but beyond that it's hard.

There's also Angeline (or Angelene) but I think Angela is the nicest.

Yika · 28/08/2015 22:39

I like Angela best - pretty, classy.

WanderingTrolley1 · 28/08/2015 22:32

Angela is lovely. The other 2 names, not so much.

DramaAlpaca · 28/08/2015 22:30

Angelina.

ExBallerina · 28/08/2015 22:28

I really love Angelica. And I watched Rug rats. I don't think many kids do now.

SoftBlocks · 28/08/2015 22:25

Or Anjelica as is Huston?

MamaLazarou · 28/08/2015 22:21

I love Angela and Angelica. How about Angelique?

TabithaTwitchEye · 28/08/2015 22:16

Celeste?

hawkmcqueen · 28/08/2015 22:13

Angela is the lady who ran the corner shop in the village when I was a child and smoked 40 a day... in the shop. So I don't think Angela is due a revival for another generation! I do like Angelica actually.

ThighsofThunder · 28/08/2015 21:15

Evangeline Star
I know you didn't mention it but I really like it.

I think Angela is of the same era as Sharon, Tracey, Denise etc - not ready for a comeback and probably never should be

Angelina, Angeliiina, play us a song on the concertina...

And Angelica is Rug rats.

My phone just suggested Angelie when I typed Angelina, that's pretty too!

Daphnedolittle · 28/08/2015 21:01

Can't stand Angela. So dated and not cool for the poor kid.
Angelina on the other hand is quite nice with options of nicknames that aren't just Angie! Such as Lina which is quite elegant.
I think Angelica is a nice name, and quirky and different without being too outlandish.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 28/08/2015 20:22

Angela is very 80s and dated, either Angelica or Angelina are both marginally better but not by much sorry! Evangeline is nice though?

triathlon · 28/08/2015 20:14

Angela is a lovely name and unusual now.

Lunastarfish · 28/08/2015 16:48

I really like Angelica.

Angelina is a mouse or Jolie.

Angela is dated imo but I know a few (all over 30) and they are very nice!

maybebabybee · 28/08/2015 14:12

twisty Omg yes, that's why I don't like Angelica, just realised - that bloody cartoon.

Evangeline I wouldn't choose necessarily but much nicer than any of the OP's, IMO.

AlexandraOrlov · 28/08/2015 14:08

There is also Evangeline

TwistyKnicksFuckOff · 28/08/2015 13:49

Angela is very dated.
Angelica reminds me of that little horror in Rugrats.

What about Angelene or Angeline?

CruCru · 28/08/2015 12:53

Angela, definitely.

IsadoraQuagmire · 28/08/2015 12:46

Angelica is the most beautiful name in the entire world, that's mostly because it's MY name Grin I've only met people older than me called Angela, but I have a cousin on the Italian side of the family named Mariangela, which I think is lovely.
