Clara has always been the favourite but having seen the name Astrid in a book I really like it. Her brother is Adam.

Clara Astrid?
Astrid Clara?

I am considering Astrid as a middle name for my bump - my daughters name means Star too.
I have a good friend called Clara I love the name and has good associations for me!

Clara.

I know two sets of siblings called Adam & Clara, no doubt because they go together really well.

Skittles88 · 07/08/2015 22:24

I know two sisters with these names! I prefer Clara as I always see/think Asteroid with Astrid.

Whitetulipofpeace · 07/08/2015 22:24

I adore Astrid. I loved it when I first heard it in Doctor Who and loved it even more when I watched Fringe!

FlossieTreadlight · 07/08/2015 22:17

Clara - lovely name

Sophronia · 07/08/2015 22:15

Clara Astrid

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 07/08/2015 21:46

I'm not a fan of the Clar-ra pronunciation personally. I prefer Clair-ra.

Only1scoop · 07/08/2015 21:02

Like Clara not keen on Astrid

CrystalMcPistol · 07/08/2015 21:01

Clara is lovely.

I don't like the ass sound in Astrid.

Lurleene · 07/08/2015 19:21

Doctor Who reasons or not I think they're both lovely. Congratulations. Smile

Inkymess · 07/08/2015 19:03

Clara. Like Astrid but could be seen as I bit odd

Spydra · 07/08/2015 19:03

Clara and Adam work better as a pair - they both get their own initials.

Astrid sounds harder and less elegant to my ears.

microferret · 07/08/2015 19:01

I love Astrid. Sounds like a trail of stars in a pitch dark sky to me! I have known two Astrids - both German - and they are both lovely people and very interesting. I Clara a bit meh.

DirtyMugPolice · 07/08/2015 19:00

Lurleene I am but haven't chosen the names because of that - I only discovered yesterday after looking at the name Astrid it was the name of Kylie's character in Doctor Who. Astrid is also an anagram of Tardis I now know!

lostinikea I don't know what you mean?

That depends. Which pronunciation for Clara would you use?

confusedandemployed · 07/08/2015 18:48

I love Astrid, I'd love to be able to use it.

I like Clara too though.

Jojay · 07/08/2015 18:48

Clara. Astrid sounds clunky.

LeonoraFlorence · 07/08/2015 18:47

Clara, definitely Smile

Romeyroo · 07/08/2015 18:46

Clara definitely.

Barefoot789 · 07/08/2015 18:41

I love Clara! But I do also like Astrid. Clara is more classic I'd say x
