Edward, Marcus or Gabriel?

We are struggling with a boys name shortlist. Brother for Fraser. Husband has rejected nearly everything I've suggested. My current favourite is Edward but I wonder if it's a bit boring. James is the likely middle name and we have a three syllable Mc surname.

I would welcome thoughts and suggestions? Thank you.

Gabriel is lovely, and has a good nickname of 'Gabe'. It's classic plus slightly unusual, and I would choose this.

Marcus is absolutely fine, but somehow I always get the mental image from this name of someone quite military who is not in touch with their emotions. I do appreciate this is probably just me though!

Nothing wrong with Edward at all, quite nice in fact, but a bit over-popular over recent years, if that doesn't bother you then obviously it's fine.

Edward. Not keen on the other two. There seem to be lots of baby Teddys or Teds around at the moment. Ed is a cool nn though

Absolutely love Gabriel and think it goes best with Fraser so would go for this. Edward would be 2nd choice - very nice, great nicknames but as a pp has already said, a bit safe compare to Fraser. Not keen on Marcus - makes me think of an accountant for some reason!

Definitely Gabriel. Edward is nice enough but very "safe". Although I love nn Ted and like nn Ed. Marcus is completely meh. Reminds me of a dull, stuffy school teacher.

Marcus is ds2's middle name, so I may be biased, but love it. Gabriel would be my preferred choice if there would ever be a ds3. Both beautiful, strong, classic names. Don't like Edward though. It sounds a bit Enid Blyton to me, but I don't know why.

I was going to say Marcus until I say his brother is Fraser - in which case I think Gabriel goes better.
