Girls names that fit my criteria?

  • Simple, easy to spell and pronounce, BUT very underused.

  • Names that don't immediately give away your age, class, nationality.

  • Not too long and frilly but pretty and feminine

  • Not a nickname

I can find problems with all of them though, any other suggestions?

As previous posters have said, Sadie and Tessa are nicknames, or at least short forms of longer names.
So are Greta (Margaret) and Nina (for all sorts of names ending in 'ina'; it's also rather generic, and means 'little girl')

Marinacortina That's the Russian nicknames, and I have some Russian roots, so my Grandmother is called Nastya for short within the family. I know they sound a little funny but they're nice sounding in the native accent :) But I know it might be a little strange to some people.

Sadie's not new as a given name. My gran was called Sadie. She'd be pushing 100 if she was still here.

What about Fiona? It's a lovely classic name not short for anything not frilly or silly, and there won't be many baby Fiona's about
