DH came up with this name, which I surprisingly like.
Clementine :) we would pronounce it Clem-en-tyne not teen

Which do you prefer, Clementine, Clementina or Clemency?

I don't particularly like the nn Clem or Clemmy though,

Can you think of any other nn: here's a few I like
Minnie, Min, Mimi, Cleo,

Clemency rather than Clementine, but both nice names.

I thought it was Clement een, as in Christine, Pauline etc.

Clementine

another unpopular choice I prefer Clementina. then she has option of Tina as a nn as well - will depend on her personality I guess! or teeny (I know a few Christina's with that nn)

birchygoo · 29/07/2015 23:33

It didn't occur to me it would be said diff to clemen Tyne although when pointed out in was like ah of course!! du'h

what I'm trying to say if reading her name I would say clemen Tyne. I do also prefer that way over teen (but seem I'm against the popular choice)

Clemency is nice. I would pronounce Clementine 'teen', 'tyne' is a bit too oh my darlin oh my darlin oh my darlin Clementine.

Sophronia · 29/07/2015 22:18

I like all three. I know a Clementina who goes by Nina.

thegreylady · 29/07/2015 21:35

I love Clemency but am less keen on Clementine to me it shouts satsuma or tangerine!

reuset · 29/07/2015 21:29

Clementine. Clementyne pronunciation is better Clemen-teen, that faux, phony, half hearted attempt at a French pronunciation. Clay-mohn-teen is how you should say it if you want to be 'authentic'

Oh I like nn Lemmie

If she choose Clem or Clemmie that's different, I would prefer to choose something different :)

Out of that lot, Clemency. I like Clementine pronounced Clemen-teen though

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/07/2015 20:54

Clemency, gorgeous name.
NN Lemmie
But although you don't like the nn
Clem or Clemmie. Your dd might do though op. It's her name. Her choice what she goes by. She might even decide she doesn't want a nn

susurration · 29/07/2015 20:52

I like Clemency.
