Old fashioned but unusual girls names, help!

DD due in a few weeks and really struggling to find a name! Looking for something old, not common and not weird! Does such a name exist?!

My son has a name from the chronicles of narnia, a horse and his boy book and my daughter has an old English name that has been used more in the US in recent years.

How about 'Eve'?

Best name ever IMO Wink

It's my daughter's name and surprisingly uncommon - lots of Eva and Evie's, but very few Eve. Works for a baby, girl and adult. Smile

Oh, and I agree on Lynette (sorry, anyone who likes it/has used it/is one) which would rule out Linnet for me, too. Boo.

I checked the actual stats, after reading comments earlier. My own child's conventional but fairly rare name when she was born... is now just outside the top 50 and climbing! This is exactly what happened with my son. Funny how fashion driven we all are, even when trying to be exactly the reverse.

I know a couple of infant Ottilies... it is a lovely, lovely name though. I rather like Octavia as well.

Another alternative to Odile, that I personally love, is the name Ottilie.
Whether it fits the criteria of unusual or old fashioned enough though I'm not sure...

Althea has interesting meanings.
It is mentioned by Richard Lovelace in his poem....Walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage......
It is also Greek for a healer.
Also, can be a corruption of hollyhocks.
It's also got the three syllables that I like in a name.
