Opinions on the name Dorothy nn Dottie

To go with siblings Charlie and Tilly.

Love the meaning of Dorothy, 'gift of god' and she would be a gift as we have lost two babies.

Simply love it!

There's nothing to stop you calling your child Dorothy, but you will have to accept that many people won't like it. There are some old names that people are trying to bring back and I wonder whether part of the reason is that nobody else is called that. There's usually a reason!

Lovely name, and Dottie is a cute nickname, that sounds good with the other names.

Of course you can call her that, nothing to stop you! It's sensible, if plain.

I really like Dorothea but charlie has another brother called Theo, I didn't want it to be too similar in sound, as she would probably be nicknamed Thea...too similar?

And I don't want to be accused of copying ;) Not that I ever see him
