Thoughts on Jonty?

Heard a little boy called this today, and I really like it, dp's dad was called john, but as my ex husbands name is Jonathan we ruled the name out straight away, so thought this would be nice as still has dp's name in it. Only thing putting me off is whether of not the name will be shortened to Jon which I'm not keen on x

I know two Jonty's aged 4 and under. Not sure they know each other though. It is a bit posh but but these families aren't as posh as you'd expect from the name. So if you like it, go for it.

I only know Jonty as a shortened version of Jonathan.

I think it's okay as a nickname but not as a real name. It's a bit too posh for me.

It's usually a (quite 'posh') nickname for Jonathan, I've never seen it used as a full first name before. I'm not keen, although I do like John/Johnny and Jonathan.

I think it's very sweet but not sure how it would suit a grown man. And I do think it's a bit "Time Nicebutdim".
