How would you pronounce 'Thea'?

I have an Alethea (Ah-lee- thee-uh) who's nn is Thea (Thee-uh).

Only trouble is the local prn is Ah-lee-fee-Ahh.

Thee - to rhyme with Fee and a soft th sound - ah.

I am mixed descent, all UK based, and live in Wales but have lived all over.

I had one in my class at school as a kid who pronounced it Thee-ah

But I know one as an adult who pronounces it Tay-ah. But she is half Dutch.

The -ah (th from theology) as in The-oh (Theo) the boys name. From Cambridgeshire.

Thee-ah, with a soft 'th', unless there was a French connection or the name was spelt Théa, in which case 'Tay-a'.

I'm going to be different and say I automatically think it's "tee a" but that's because that is how they say it in Norway where my DP's cousin's child has the name!
Thee-a is probably how I would have said it without this scandi influence in me! (I'm from East Anglia)

I would also pronounce Catherine as 'Cathrin', although in other parts of Europe it would be pronounced more like 'Catreen'. Nothing wrong with Tay-uh, but I think Thee-uh is the more common British pronunciation.

I would say Th ee a but I used to know one who pronounced it Taya like layer. I'm in north west England.

I don't understand that at all murphys. They are two different names, especially as you font even need to spell Tia out phonetically, it's seemingly understood that it's pronounced Tee-uh.

I've only ever heard Thee-uh and Tay-uh but it seems like there are more variations.
