Dh and I like both as first names but can't decide on middle names to go with them! Inspiration needed.

I'm an Emma. It was very popular whilst I was at school- what was good though is that the other Emma's were always Emma Louise! I'm an Emma Grace Elizabeth and I love it! Grin

Emma and Claire are both quite simple, no-frills names, so I would go for something more - what shall I say - as middle names. Adventurous? Glamorous? Unusual? Daring? Grin None of which mean any disrespect to two lovely names! It would be a shame to fall back on the usual suspects.

Lots of good suggestions here. I might be tempted to look to the heavens as they are Gemini Grin and choose star or constellation names.

Claire Andromeda
Emma Berenice

Emma Jane
Claire Elizabeth

Cwtchbach · 22/07/2015 17:43

My name is Claire and I have a 3 syllable middle name, it flows well, especially when mum is cross with me Grin

MrsBueller · 22/07/2015 07:17

Emma Rebecca
Emma Alexandra
Emma Victoria
Emma Amelia
Emma Kristina

Claire Victoria
Claire Elisa
Claire Juliet
Claire Melissa

Do you not want two names with the same number of syllables though? Emma and Clara for example?

Hulababy · 21/07/2015 17:09

My little niece is Emma Grace.

Mynd · 21/07/2015 15:33

Emma Claire.

FlysInDreams · 21/07/2015 15:10

Emma Jean

Sunbeam18 · 21/07/2015 15:06

I agree with the person who suggested Louise and Marie. I think these go really well with both Emma and Claire

littlejohnnydory · 21/07/2015 10:23

I would go for a longer, more unusual middle name with Claire or Emma personally.

Claire Genevive
Claire Rosamund
Claire Rosanna
Claire Anastasia
Claire Ottilie
Claire Aurelie
Claire Dorothea
Claire Amabel

Emma Cordelia
Emma Rosamund
Emma Colette
Emma Isabella
Emma Florence
Emma Valentina

Emma is a gorgeous name but far harder to find a middle name for than Claire. I included Isabella and Florence even though they're quite popular because they sound lovely!

Belazu84 · 20/07/2015 23:24

Emma Katherine
Clare Madeleine

Or Clare Seraphina
And Emma Cordelia if you wanted slightly bolder middles?

Louise

threeberries · 20/07/2015 23:01

Thanks for all the suggestions there's quite a few I hadn't thought of. I would put them together but we're expecting twins Grin . our surname is one syllable so I think we can get away with two or even three syllables in the message middle.

Claire Elizabeth

Emma Catherine

Sunbeam18 · 20/07/2015 21:29

I'm a Claire Lindsey

Hulababy · 20/07/2015 21:29

My middle name is Louise. Claire Louise was very very popular in the 70s. However, the two names to flow together easily.

I also think it needs at least two syllables

BothEndsBurning · 20/07/2015 21:25

Much depends on the surname. Need a clue as to how it sounds.
