Currently 28 weeks pregnant with a boy. Me and dh have decided his name is going to be Cooper -which I love love love ? I like kindof out there/americana names- names that aren't to crazy I guess (cooper us really moving up the popularity charts) what do you think??? I just want to know what kind of reaction it'll get lol x

Not for me but I like it for a dog.

Heels99 · 14/07/2015 18:34

So did you make up the spelling to be youneek?

Doublebubblebubble · 14/07/2015 18:34

Saulgood that's it - once the bubble is named that's it you say exactly that.

Got to say, OP, Cooper is growing on me.

Doublebubblebubble · 14/07/2015 18:32

Not changing it lol and its raegan - Gan!!!.. Not ray gun although tbh DD does love star trek/star wars so if anyone (else) even thinks (to takes the piss out of her name) that that's something she'll love!!! . Regretting this thread now lol gah

I love the name. We actually called our dog cooper and now that I'm pregnant with a boy I kinda wish we hadn't so we could of used it for him!!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/07/2015 18:13

I like it.

Don't tell a SOUL, just announce it once he's born. People can't change your mind then.

MonstrousRatbag · 14/07/2015 18:11

Lol at 'Shitstorm'.

SaulGood · 14/07/2015 18:02

No, really not on to take the piss out of children already named.

If somebody says we've called DS2 "Shitstorm", you say "gosh how unusual, congratulations."

Allthefours · 14/07/2015 17:53

A friend of mine has a little boy called cooper. Really suits him and it's quite a cool name.

The thing with names is that not everyone will like it regardless of what you choose. If you love cooper then go for it, there are much worse out there IMO!!

I'm 26 weeks pregnant with a boy and we have decided in a name of which everyone either loves it, hates it or wants to give a further nickname. Can't win!

sweetpeame · 14/07/2015 17:53

I strongly dislike surnames as first names and this definitely falls into that category. It sounds too American and try hard IMO but to be fair you said you like American names so I guess it ticks that box for you. It's not in the least bit "out there" though if that's what you're looking for. The meaning of it wouldn't bother me at all, I just think it's not a nice name.

MitzyLeFrouf · 14/07/2015 17:50

There's no need to take the piss out her names.

Heels99 · 14/07/2015 17:48

Lite-sabre goes well with ray-gun

Candycoco · 14/07/2015 17:34

I love it, but I called my dog it as I never had a son, love calling him coops too Grin

MirandaGoshawk · 14/07/2015 17:32

I don't like the Fletcher type names so no, not Cooper. I don't think it sounds strong at all - the opposite in fact. But I quite like Raegan although reminds me of Ronald Prefer names like Sebastian or RaphaelSmile

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 14/07/2015 17:31

Well if you like it, and are set on using the name then it doesn't not. Should not matter what we think. Your baby your choice

Heels99 · 14/07/2015 17:24

Op did you make up the spelling of your dd name? Not regan or reagan but raegan? Like ray-gun?
Is this a wind up?

Millipedewithherfeetup · 14/07/2015 17:09

I like it, can see a sporty cool teenager with coop for a name, cooper for a little boy and man works too x

CrispyFern · 14/07/2015 17:06

I quite like it.

Strokethefurrywall · 14/07/2015 17:05

Pfft don't worry about the reaction, Im sure we got a few Hmm faces about DS2s name (Sullivan) but i bloody love it and really don't care if others don't.
Have courage of your convictions OP, Cooper is a fine name!

Doublebubblebubble · 14/07/2015 17:04

And yeah I love that he'll be a Coop (I just think awww) and yep I get that it's a place for chickens etc
