What is your favourite shortening of Elizabeth and Alexandra

So having been roundly assured that Tess is not an acceptable nn for Elizabeth Grin what is your favourite shortening of:

Elizabeth/Elisabeth

I love Betty, and like all the other potential shortenings of Elizabeth.

Really not keen on Alexandra or any of it's shortenings I'm afraid.

Can't bear Lexie - it was a very popular baby name near where I used to work, and the screams of Lex-AYY! were off-putting to say the least.

I've heard of people using Bunny as a nickname for Elizabeth. No idea why but I think it's an adorable nn for a little girl

We have numerous Elizabeths in our family - Betty, Eliza, Beth, Lilli, Liz... If I ever have a DD I'd like to call her Elizabeth. Ideally I'd have called her Betsi or Bess for short but neither sound great with our surname. She'd have to be a Lissy, I think. Not that DH would go for that!

I can't say I'm a huge fan of any Alexandra names, personally. I might go for something like Lexa if I had to choose.

My Alexandra is a Lexi. She was Alex for about a year until she went to nursery and had to compete for the name with a little boy. She suits Lexi. It's different enough for no one else in her school to have it yet she retains the right to rename herself as the gender non-specific Alex on her CV in later years.

Her grandmother is an Elizabeth, known as Betty.

My Alexandra (10) is known as Alex, which is sometimes shortened to Al. They all suit her very well. I liked Lexi until my DM attached Lou to it - Alex's middle name is louise. She has a friend called alexia who is always called Lexi. My dd loves sasha which is a Russian shortening of alexandra I believe. Actually love the name Sasha but our last name begins Sh and it doesn't work!

Oooh! I really like Zizzy! which is more in keeping with our other DC nicknames (i.e. not actually a recognisable name to anyone else!)

Lexa is a really nice alternative to Lexi too!
