Girls names list thoughts?

I am expecting my second girl and struggling with names
I have a Scarlett who also has 2 other Scarletts in her class. Looking to avoid this but not too out there either
This is what I have so far ;

Gretel
Winnie
Edie
Jemima
Hettie

Thoughts?

If by pp you mean me. I 'm not getting butthurt. I just don't like the name. Op did after all ask for opinions, and that's all they are opinions.

Jemima is very pretty, and I do actually like Gretel, even though I can see why it's marmite. I knew a Gretel when growing up, and it's one of those names that seems way more normal "in person" than written down.

I don't understand why a PP is getting butthurt about Jemima though...it's a perfectly normal name....

I Love Winnie, The only thing that would concern me is potential teasing, eg Winnie the Witch or Winnie the Pooh, but then I've never known any Thomas' to endure teasing in reference to Thomas the tank engine, to give an example, so I think Winnie would be fine. Just me and my deep thinking.
Gretel makes me think of Hansel and Gretel. That story used to terrify me as a little one.
Hettie just like the sound of it.
Edie. Pretty, but not to my taste

DS has a friend called Winnie, I love her name! I think Hattie is more traditional as a nn for Harriet, but Hettie is fab too. Great choices, OP!

Totally agree with Sophronia - some really lovely names but I would suggest the long forms for bc, and short forms for known names.

I really like Jemima.

Gretel was traditionally a diminutive of Grete, which was a short form of Margaret. As Reuset says, it's traditionally cute and little girly - rather like Rosie compared with the plainer, more adult, Rose.

I know of more than one little Edie. For that, and for Winnie and Hettie, I prefer full names, rather than rather babyish short forms.

Thanks guys. I think I am more confused than ever. My haves were Gretel and Winnie but I realise these are are seriously marmite! Only know if one Edie around here but am guessing will gain more popularity. Think I am leaning towards Jemima.

There's a few Edies in dd's school so I might avoid that. Love Hettie - short for Harriet? Winnie is awful, as is Gretel.
