I really like the name phoebe, but it's a tad too popular. Would like something with less of a chance of there being several she knows... Any suggestions for similar ish names?

We know one other in real life. I think it was supposed to be the 28th most popular girls name in 2014.

lastqueenofscotland · 08/06/2015 21:42

Elody?

PattyPenguin · 08/06/2015 20:16

Just to say that Eleri (one suggestion above) is Welsh.

Eleni is a Greek girl's name, though.

ovumahead · 08/06/2015 06:26

LittlePeas have you encountered many other phoebes?

I've got a Phoebe...is it really that popular? Anyway, it means 'light' in Greek, as does Lucinda (Latin) which is another fave of mine.

Prudence, Philomena, Prunella, Ava, Genivieve (sp?), Constance, Fenella, Ursula, Dora all fall into the same compartment of my brain.

Agree that Daphne would be great - such a lovely name and Greek origins like Phoebe

Other Greek/Roman sounding names are
Zoe
Chloe (as above)
Eleri
Althea
Lyra

FoamyOne · 07/06/2015 19:21

Thalia
Thea
Beatrice (Bea

I'm not sure (except for Bea!) quite why these are similar to Phoebe, but to my mind they are.

Twinkletoes007 · 07/06/2015 19:16

Phoebe is on my list along with Florence felicity Imogen Matilda and Annabel
