DH is set on the name Che for a boy, I don't hate it but I'm not that keen on it either. We can't even agree on the pronunciation! I say it with a hard 'ch' sound e.g. chair, cheese and DH with a soft 'sh' e.g. Shay.

I could probably learn to live with it, maybe even like it but which pronunciation is correct? Help please!

Its not a name as such che Guevara was called che as a nickname as che ia used in speech a lot the sound che is used by people from Argentina like we use eh, right or so. Is more ch in chair than shay. U can use it as a name i guess its unusual

I knew a Che growing up, he was named after Che Guevara so pronounced with hard "ch".

To be honest most of the other parents thought his name was v v wanky, but this was the 80s when all the other boys were called Mark, Paul, John, Darren, Scott and so on so Che as a name stood out like a sore thumb, it might not be considered so out there now.

I think as in Che Guevara it's more of a softer sound.

But to be honest, here in England, my first response was to think of Fawlty Towers and "Que?".
