Wanted: girls name. Must be fabulous.

Why am I pregnant again ffs? Stupid Catholic upbringing. My body will an unsalvageable wreck and we will be living in penury for the next two decades.

Anyway. Need a girls name. I am utterly devoid of inspiration, being interested only in grab bags of Skips and having naps.

Already have an Agnes and an Enid. Surname Stephens.

Dislike: frilliness; 'ah' endings; 'classic' names.

Like: fabulous names. I was keen on Ramona the last go-round, but think I might have lost my love for it.

Any suggestions?

Tabitha Stephens? Like in Bewitched? Erm, no.

Fyi North London names are almost exactly the same as SW London names. Just chuck in a few Eloises and Evies and you're there.

Gladys discounted by virtue of having 'Glad' at the start. Too puritan and also likely to be hilariously un-apt.

Just popping into this VERY good thread to say if you go to St Buryan ("buhree-an" or at a push, "berry-an" depending on your accent) and call it St Bree-Ann, people will laugh at you. A lot.

Etta's definitely South London, plus (as well as all the Evies and Esmes), May/Mae/Maya, Ava, Iris, Isla, Gracie. Mind you I also heard a girl being called Tracy in a South London park the other day.

I am secretly starting to quite like Tara - never thought I'd warm to it as I was bullied by a Tara at school, but I suddenly find myself liking it.
