Brynn for a girl?

What do people thin of Brynn? Will either be Brynn Elizbath or Brynn Alana.

I have heard it a few times on American tv shows or in films, so I definitely think it's more common there! But I really really like it and would be interested in some input :)

I don't like it at all for a girl. Just because it's used in America as a girls name doesn't make it a good idea! It also reminds me of Uncle Bryn in Gavin & Stacey. Alana is a beautiful name and Elizabeth is fine also.

Only if you would call her brother Bethan.......

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 20/05/2015 13:14

It's a pretty sound but again, I think people would assume male.

PurpleDaisies · 20/05/2015 13:13

I'm another Welsh lady and it's a boy's name to me. Alana is nicer than "Elizbath" (is that how you'd spell Elizabeth or is it a typo?).

Sorry op not a fan but if you and your partner like it that's all that matters.

TheEmpressofBlandings · 20/05/2015 13:11

I'd think someone had misspelled Bryan too, sorry OP, it doesn't sound at all like a girl's name

hillyhilly · 20/05/2015 13:10

I misread it as Bryan

florascotia · 20/05/2015 13:10

Bryn is a Welsh male name - immediately makes me think of the tall, big-built, deep-voiced, bearded, bass-baritone opera singer, Bryn Terfel.

I don't think adding an extra 'n' makes Bryn into a girl's name.

I like it for a boy, not so much for a girl. I love Quinn for a girl tho.

InanimateCarbonRod · 20/05/2015 13:05

TBH it looks like there are vowels missing and sounds like a mispronunciation of Brian. Sorry OP I don't like it.
