Autumn? Aria? Alexa?

Baby 3 is due in November, already have two quite plain sounding names for DS and DD, would like something different but not outrageous- any thoughts on

Mila? Aria? Nova? Isla? Alexa? Autumn (the favourite atm)

I love the name Mila! So I would choose that.

Otherwise Autumn is lovely. Not keen on the other names.

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 zombie thread

Whatsyourflava · 22/04/2020 07:18

@CreamWhitecakes yes it does matter that people know it’s a zombie thread before they comment, as they’re very kindly taking up their time commenting on all OPs choices and making suggestions based on OPs comments.
There’s been loads of recent threads about the name Autumn on here, if you find a discussion on that name interesting.

I am old enough to remember Nova and just a really crap car.

I like Autumn (but oddly I dislike Summer as a name).

Ellmau · 21/04/2020 23:34

Because 90% of those replying from now onw will miss the date on the OP, and reply to it, most probably saying they can't use the name of a device (which I guess wasn't around five years ago).

CreamWhitecakes · 21/04/2020 20:55

Does it matter that it's a zombie thread?
We're thinking of Autumn as a girl's name and this is really useful thread Smile

Whatsyourflava · 21/04/2020 20:17

Zombie thread
Baby is now 4 years old and about to start school if not there already

LotusClover · 21/04/2020 19:25

Who keeps bringing up all these old threads? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sarahlm123 · 21/04/2020 18:15

What did you end up.going for in the end👀

Helgathehairy · 24/05/2015 23:04

My favourite is Aria (my DD is called Aria) but I love autum as well.

DarkHeart · 23/05/2015 00:02

Love Autumn, prefer Alexis to Alexa, Nova is dreadful, Isla v popular

LeoandBoosmum · 22/05/2015 17:53

I also love Camille (pronounced Cammy ie French sound)

I love Seren (Welsh for star)

Also, Alexa is nice, as is Thea. Isla is too common now.

LeoandBoosmum · 22/05/2015 17:51

Love Autumn for a baby born in the colder months. What about Noelle, Holly, Robin if she's late and arrives in December?
Going by names you've suggested, how about Naomi or Orla?

wesH · 22/05/2015 12:43

Autumn - this is okay
Alexa - Alexandra is nicer but thats just my personal opinion
Mila - cute, not very "strong" but pleasant sounding
Aria - too fairy-ish, not a strong name at all... sounds like a girl who'd blow away in a stiff breeze
Nova - I think this one is okay too, though others seem to disagree. Not many Novas around, though it does sound a bit "goth" to me
Isla - too common and really not even that nice

ashesandfire · 21/05/2015 19:12

Love Autumn and Alexa.
really don't like Nova.
Isla is nice but there are soooo many of them. It's definitely not 'different'.
Mila and Aria - ok but they sound quite trendy to me. Not sure they will date well.

ElleGrace · 20/05/2015 17:31

Personally I love both Alexa and Autumn- but only if baby is actually born in Autumn!
I also like Alexia, for a spin off Alexa
Mila?
Not to keen on this, sounds a bit character-like for me.
Aria?
Love this, but like the spelling Arya more (I know, I know, that is a character)
Nova?
Not sure on this one, very unique for sure.
Isla?
Not very unusual IMO, I know a few Islas.

LouisaB1990 · 20/05/2015 17:27

Love love love Alexa. It's beautiful & it's classy for when she becomes a woman
Suggestions sorry don't think you asked
Darcy
Briana

Leonie
Madelyn
Taya

inmyshoos · 19/05/2015 11:30

Love Autumn. Nova was my first car! Like Isla too but very popular now. No feeling about the others other than not sure about pronounciation of Mila and Aria. Mila sounds like a skin condition sorry Blush

islablossom15 · 19/05/2015 11:26

I like this post as my daughters are called Isla and autumn! I have had nothing but positives comments on autumns name on how lovely it is, it's not popular yet not unusual enough to appear odd. Her full name is autumn blossom ........, I of course love the name Isla aswell however it is quite popular now

sweetpeame · 18/05/2015 19:59

Autumn is a nice name, not too common but not unusual.
Nova - dislike it, sounds very harsh.
Aria - sounds pretentious like an aria from an opera. Or maybe the Aria casino in Las Vegas (not that that's pretentious)
Mila - meh
Alexa - ok, reminds me of the model or the Mulberry bag (which is lovely). Might get confused with Alexia or shortened to Lex or Lexi which aren't nice
Isla - fine, very common at the moment and will date quite badly I think. I think it will be the equivalent of Amanda or similar in 30 years.

foraret · 18/05/2015 16:54

Not Nova. It's like a joke. No Va. (It doesn't work/go)
Aria is a bit to PLL inspired. Maria is nicer anyway.
Mila - no. Dislike. Seems incomplete
Autumn - I don't dislike it. It's different without being too off the wall. Maybe I like it a bit.
Alexa - not keen. Kind of harsh imo
Isla - ok. Bit bland. Another like Mila that seems like HALF a name.

Autumn is the best there.

I do like Aria. I came across it for the first time on Pretty Little Liars.

pinkchampagne1 · 18/05/2015 16:04

Isla - very popular but ok name, so long as your surname isn't White!
Nova - don't like
Mila - nice
Autumn - lovely
Alexa - not keen
