Valerie!

Had a dream last night that we called impending DC Valley, short for Valerie! I weirdly love Valley but in reality, Valerie is in the same league as Pat/Pam/Sue/Bev, isn't it?? Not due a comeback IMO!

Although those names will probably be all the rage when our kids are having our grandchildren Grin

I prefer our consciously-chosen girls name over this dreamy one, so don't think we'll be having a little Val, but just thought that was funny.

Anyone know any little Valeries? Or Pats for that matter.

Hmm, Valerie might be cool, and not in league with Pam/Bev etc... But 'Val' most certainly IS in that league.

So for me it's a no because I can't get past Our Val.

Valentino Rossi is known as Vale (pronounced like valley)
Maybe Valentina?

Fwiw this very week I out Valerie forward for a potential (but unnecessary) girls name!

wizzler · 20/05/2015 21:32

I love valerie, and would have chosen it for dd , but it sounds dreadful with our surname...

IHateHelloKitty · 19/05/2015 15:00

love Valerie and yes I agree it is definitely cool.
for alternatives I know a Valeriane (like the plant) and a Valea (pr Vah-leh-ah)
lovely choice!

Those 40s/50s names are definitely on the way back. I know a baby Lorna, a toddler Judy and a 4 yr old Dorothy.

BreeVDKamp · 17/05/2015 08:26

Oh cool I love that there are some little Valeries out there!! I actually rather like Pamela but not Pam.
I'm not really a Sylvie/Nancy fan personally. Really like Violet though (really not in the same vein in my mind) and once worked with a Vera who is in her 20s I'd say.
I think it's all rather refreshing!

Monica is another in the same vein. Love Monica.

I adore the name Pamela! Valerie is okay, can imagine it being very popular again at some stage.

Mouthfulofquiz · 16/05/2015 23:23

I know a Valerie aged 4 and it's an amazing name. The name itself sounds very pretty.

Rhubarbgarden · 16/05/2015 23:08

I think it's a lovely name. I also like Hilary and Marjorie though.

FatWalda · 16/05/2015 22:59

I think Pamela is pretty too.

Marcipex · 16/05/2015 22:36

Love Valerie, and think it's due a revival.
I also think Pamela will be the next Evie/Ruby name.

Wishful80smontage · 16/05/2015 19:24

The only Valerie I know is in her early 20s. I think it's sweet!

My much loved nanna was Valerie (she loathed her middle name though, Violet!)
