Sister to go with Tabitha

Hi All
Due this week!

I have boys names sorted. I have a DD called Tabitha but rarely gets called Tabitha- usually Tatty!

Please help. We are going round in circles. We are definitely fans of fuller birth certificate name with funky, more unusual nicknames.

Indigo nn Indie - Love Indie with Tatty. This is our fav but not so sure of Indigo as Tabitha's sister. Too different name camps right? Will she wish she had a more traditional fn? Dislike Indira, Indiana & India. Also, how many Indie's do you know?

Hermione nn Mimi or Minnie - HP Gah!!!

Saskia nn Sassy or Kiki - I love both. DH not so much.

Bonnie - does it need a full name? My name OCD says it does.

Lilia - too many Lilys about, right! Think this might be a mn option as it's after a family member.

They are the front runners.
Other options have been...
Jemima, Xanthe, Willow, Clementine, Camilla, Cressida, Cordelia, Constance...

Grateful for help, opinions, thoughts!

What? The OP asked for an opinion on the name Indigo. That's my opinion. Sorry if it doesn't meet with your approbation.

Could we all lay off the OP now please? She should not have been so flippant about MH issues but I'm sure she understands this now.

I love the name Indira (have a Swiss friend by that name). Much nicer than Indigo imo, and nn Indie still works well.

Jesspip, maybe people do think it's ok to use OCD frivolously but I think that they could do with expanding their vocabulary.

As someone who has dealt with this first hand and be asked 'oh so you're really tidy' a million times I don't actually think people do have a good understanding of the condition.

Anyway, not trying to be rude but if I've made someone think differently about a very serious mental health problem which ruins peoples everyday lives and potentially opened their eyes to the fact it isn't just a minor 'quirk' then that is a good thing.

Jess do you know the difference? Would you think it was ok to use the word 'spaz' or 'mong' in a trivial fashion? Flippant references to OCD are half the reason why the condition is woefully misunderstood. 'Lolz, I like to be clean and line my pencils up, I'm OCD'. Hmm

Aaaaanyway, back to the point of the thread... Indigo is a fab name and as a previous poster said the NN Dingo is really sweet and quirky. I know an Indigo and her little sister Dahlia. Love that name.

'OCD' has most definitely evolved in the English language to have a more frivolous meaning in everyday speech, so I think it's Ok to use it in this way. Everyone knows the serious nature of the actual condition and I don't think this is trivialising it one bit. We are all people with brains, we know the difference.

OCD has made me nearly suicidal at one point in my life. It's really not something to be misused like this. Wanting your kids to have names from same genre or whatever is not OCD and you saying it is is insulting.

OP, OCD is a heartbreaking condition for the sufferes and their families, not a diagnosis to be bandied about for 'little quirks' on a naming thread. please THINK before you post.

I know a Bonnie whose full name is Bonnita.

I like Tabitha and Jemima together. Tabitha and Saskia also go very well.

Sorry but Bonnie is awful.
Lilia-brand of sanitary protection. A nursery parent announced she had named the new baby Lilia and a great shout of laughter went up as soon as she left.

Indie is nice, why not just use it if you like it? Could be short for Cindy or Lindy.

Also have a Tabitha here. Meredith, Genevieve, Posy and Clementine were all candidates (how funny similar to others!) I know which I would use if I were to ever have another girl.
