opinions on Apollo

I have a 1 year old daughter named Belle and she will have a little brother in August a name that keeps sticking on us is Apollo I like it as its different And id like to know your opinion.

I always think of it this way, can you think of a newborn Apollo, a 3 year old Apollo, a teenaged Apollo, a business man Apollo, a retired Apollo and an elderly Apollo. If the answer is yes to all these questions then go for it.

As I previous poster said, I would think "poor child". Then I would think the parents were wannabees. Sorry Blush. I know I sound like Katie Hopkins, but its awful. Sorry to be so blunt.

I also think it is ridiculous for a grown man.

My sister had a cat called Apollo - his nickname was Polly. Nice name for cat.

GetBusy I know! He's now 4-ish and Apollo is coming back into usage but it took me a while to work out that that was what he was called because he was called Paul so often.

It sounds awful, I really don't think a grown man called Apollo would be taken seriously. It's not even a name you can get away with for a small boy... Big fat no from me.

Yes the rather bland Paul is nothing like the magnificent Apollo....

The only thing that might put me off is it may be shortened to Polly!

Personally, it makes me think of the space program in the 1960s.

But I am serious about thinking that the name Apollo only works with some personalities and surnames. Personally, I wouldn't use it but there are worse names out there.

Attia Ok I know it's not made up, what I meant was its not really used as a boys name the same way you don't hear many Poseidon's running aroundWink
