Daisy or Poppy?

After much deliberation we have narrowed it down to two girls names. I prefer Daisy and Dp prefers Poppy. What do you think? Are there any horrible connotations that I haven't thought about?

I like both but prefer Daisy! I was keen on this for DD when she was born but DH vetoed. She has another flower name though Grin

Really can't stand the argument on here that an old English name like Poppy, is 'cute' or 'barbie'.
Names don't have an expiration date, they grow with the child.
Both lovely names.

I have a Poppy and am expecting DD2 shortly - we considered Daisy for her but DH thinks it is name for a cow (of the animal variety, I never knew cows had names but there you go) whereas I think two flowery names is a little bit OTT and twee so we have ruled Daisy out. Both lovely names though!!

I much prefer Daisy, although i really dislike the name when it is hyphenated which unfortunately seems pretty standard practice at the moment.
imo the name is pretty enough without tacking on another 'pretty' name

Both lovely names, Daisy is possibly a little more cutesy than Poppy, though it wouldn't put me off. I know a Daisy in her thirties who works in finance and is not cute Grin

I think poppy and daisy are both names that a lot of people associate with being a bit pink Barbie. Sorry.

It's a good job I know of 2 Poppy's tht are in their 30s that are taken seriously in the city isn't it

They are both names for little girls. By all means use them as pet names, but please give your daughter a proper grown-up name.
