Daisy or Poppy?

After much deliberation we have narrowed it down to two girls names. I prefer Daisy and Dp prefers Poppy. What do you think? Are there any horrible connotations that I haven't thought about?

I have a Daisy. She's lovely but isn't really cutesy or a pink barbie type. She's funny and wiley. I can't imagine her growing out of her name, although she does have a 'serious' middle name she can use in future if she feels that she needs to.

My cousins are daisy and poppy. Daisy is a barrister and poppy is a doctor. They can be taken perfectly seriously without having a 'grown up proper' name Hmm

Don't get me wrong, lovely names but so boring.

I had a great aunt Daisy, so it doesn't sound little-girly to me.

Love the name Daisy. Apart from my great aunt, I know two - one is in her seventies, and the other is 12.

Definetly can't call the baby Magnolia, Dp is a decorator and hates the colour.

Not really a fan of either of them, but of the two I prefer Daisy.

If I had to pick from the two I'd definitely go with Daisy. Poppy seems much more of a recent fad.

Marguerite is the French word for daisy.

I have a Poppy.

Daisy was also on our shortlist - along with Ivy, Iris, Violet & Lily Grin.

We went with Poppy as it was the one name I had loved since childhood. Our DS1 also has the name I picked out for a boy when I was about 12 Wink.

Either is great though. We had it down to two also - DH preferring one name & me preferring Poppy. As it turns out her best friend has the name DH preferred, so I'm very glad we went with Poppy!
