Juno or Luna??

38 weeks pregnant today with DD2. DD1 is Polly. She's that because we were listening to Nirvanas Nevermind and that was that, she was always going to be Polly.

DD2 we have tried to find a name from music we love so that she too has a song. Luna is the last track on Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins. Apart from the musical connection I do really like it. But, I was in a soft play a few months ago and since then have preferred Juno.

Both Luna and Juno fit my criteria of being unusual without being too weird. Imo anyway! I'm not hugely bothered that people will think of Luna Lovegod or the film Juno.

I'm just not sure whether I go with Luna because it fits better or go with Juno on the simple basis of liking it more!

DH happy with both though tends towards Luna. And in helpfully says it's my decision!

Thoughts?

I think both Luna and Juno are both cool characters so if anyone takes the piss she can point out how baller they are. IMO it's better than being named after te drippy main character in a series of boring vampire books. Wink

I'm not sure either go with Polly. Not sure why.
Like Juno more than Luna however.
Lorna just reminds me of Lorna Bliss - the Britney impersonator on BGT.

Luna is called Loony throughout the books tho.
Lorna is pretty and still unusual.

I think they're both lovely names! It depends if you want her to have a tougher sounding name or something more traditionally feminine sounding?

Sorry not a fan of either. Luna love good gets called loony love good the whole time, no child wants that!
Juno, meh, is it a boy or a girl would be my first thought, I know she is a Roman goddess but do many people make that association with it being a female name?
I think you can keep looking, Polly is lovely.

Juno. I've always had a soft spot for this name, but would never have been allowed to use it.

I like Luna too, but Juno just has the edge for me.
