Not short for anything just Kitty.

What are your opinions, not sure if this name is a contender but it's one that is on our long list.

I like it. I don't think its too cutsie but I know a very abrasive lady in her late 50s called Kitty so I would associate the name with her...

Lovely and sweet. I'd be tempted to use Katherine or similar as her 'official' name, but always use Kitty, but that's just me.

My friend was called Emmy by everyone all her life, but her official name was Emily, and she found that very annoying when she often had to explain that it wasn't her name really, it happened quite often at school, so maybe it's better to embrace Kitty as the whole name?

I do not usually like 'cutsie' names but in this case I think Kitty is actually quite a solid name, with some heritage in it's own right.

I like it, but it would give her flexibility to have a longer bc name; Katherine, Catriona, Katya, Christina, Caitlin are all good.

I like it but I would give a longer name and use it as an bb as others have said. Plenty don't though. Giles Coren's daughter's called Kitty.

My name is all grown up, very long, and awfuly respectable, and I bloody hated it as a kid.

I was normally known as a diminutive of it and I would, now as a proper grown up, have killed my parents if they'd christened me it.

Absolutely not. It's fine as a diminutive, but please give her a proper grown-up name like Katherine, Katrina, Christina etc

It's one of those names that I do like a lot but I'm not entirely sure it works for every age and stage of life. Personally I'd chose Katherine and shorten it to Kitty.

I think Kitty is a pretty nickname for a child but far too cutesy as a standalone name for a grown woman.
