A lot of french names are hyphenated so take a couple of names and put them together to make them more unique like Jean Luc.

Yep, I'm stuck! We have strong links with France so another French name would be great. I love Fabien but it doesn't go well with our surname. So far my best 'almost as good as Louis' name is Ray...
Thanks for the suggestions, will definitely look over them again and give them some thought.

I know what you mean. Louis is a great name and it's hard to think of another name as good.

I also have a Louis Smile and the only name that I think is on a par is Alexander, so saving that for DS2 should he materialise.

I don't think OP wants a name that matches, ie "goes with" Louis. I think she is looking for a name that is as good as Louis, ie one that she likes as much.
