Yes, we are Arrested Development fans.

I think it's a great name, dp thinks I'm mad.

Thoughts?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha omg I'm can't believe you seriously considered it! It's a joke, not a name.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 02/04/2015 20:25

Definitely Grin

burgatroyd · 02/04/2015 19:20

My guilty pleasure was Maybelline. I get your pain.

JulyKit · 02/04/2015 19:14

Only if your last name is Nott and your other DCs are Shirley, Will and Kanye.

Or what about Mae Beatrice or Mae Beau and then you can have the nick name maeby

SnotQueen · 02/04/2015 19:08

Just go with Funke as first name. Then Maeby in the middle. 'Cos then you have it.

Box5883284322679964228 · 02/04/2015 19:05

Maeve
Maude
maya

manicinsomniac · 02/04/2015 18:20

I know someone who has this as a surname (spelled Mabey) and they found it annoying as a teenager.

SoupDreggon · 02/04/2015 13:41

You can not seriously have thought it would be a good idea to name a child "Maybe"? Confused

bookworm14 · 02/04/2015 13:30

Maeby was the character's nickname - her real name was Mae. Why not use that?

glittertits · 02/04/2015 13:01

Love Arrested Development.

There are tonnes of girls called Mae about though, that puts me off.

Thurlow · 02/04/2015 12:57

I serious want an M named DD so that I can at least nickname it to Maeby.

MrsCosmopilite · 02/04/2015 12:53

I can picture the first day at nursery/school:
Teacher: Is your name Maisy?
DD: Maeby
Teacher: But is it?
DD: It's Maeby
Teacher: Maybe what?

It is a shame when a name looks good on paper but doesn't work so well audibly.

SophyStantonLacy · 02/04/2015 12:47

Mabel is a good suggestion.

LineRunner · 02/04/2015 10:58

I wouldn't, no.

Totality22 · 02/04/2015 10:55

Love Arrested Development (barring the final series!) and the name kind of grows on you but in RL it's a massive no-no.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 02/04/2015 09:41

I thought she was Mae B. Funke. Mae is nice?

Sophronia · 02/04/2015 09:36

How about Maybree / Maybrey / Mayberry instead?

Belazu84 · 02/04/2015 07:23

Mabel. Then you can call her Mabey if you like.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 02/04/2015 04:33

Gah, it seems dp wins this one Easter Envy hey ho, thanks anyway

Only if you go on to have a son and name him George Michael.

I'll say Maebe is better than Ann Veal.

DorothyBastard · 02/04/2015 00:26

It's not a name, it's a punchline.

mrsmeerkat · 01/04/2015 23:58
