What do you think goes with these? DH and I can't agree. I like Orla but DH not keen. All the other names of these type just don't feel as special to us ... happy to go more unusual.

Estelle could also give you Tess as a nn.

Evangeline? Evelyn?

Elke? But has a shared root with Alice.

BlueBananas · 31/03/2015 21:41

Eliza & Isobel are far too similar IMO

Interrobang · 31/03/2015 21:35

Eliza has the same root as Isobel - in case that is of any interest either way!

Interrobang · 31/03/2015 21:31

Glad you like Esther nn Tess.

If you like Eleanor but can't use it, how about Elodie?

AndHarry · 31/03/2015 21:23

Another vote for Eliza.

swancourt · 31/03/2015 21:21

Oooh lots of lovely names.

Can't let DH see this though as everybody likes Tess the most, ha ha. I like the idea of Esther NN Tess, though.

Love love love Lydia, which some others have suggested. I really like Sylvie, too.

Can't go for Eleanor or Isla for family reasons, though I love them both. I agree with whatever somebody said about the vowel names! Both their middle names are vowel names, too - weird we seem to like them!

Lots of great ideas here though - thank you!

Contessa, Theresa, Tessa with nn Tess

Interrobang · 31/03/2015 17:23

I know an Esther who goes by Tess. And another vowel name would be nice, IMO!

I also love Eloise. Vowel like the other two, and an L too.

I like Tess but agree with you about associations with that awful to women book! Tessa? Jessica/Jess?

Or Tilly!

queentroutoftrouts · 31/03/2015 17:10

I know it's very popular but could you compromise on Isla?
