DH and I can't agree on which name to go for. Options are:

Beth Sofia
Or
Kate Elizabeth

Which do you prefer?

We has a Kate (Katherine Emma)

We've always called her Kate but wanted her to have options if she decided she didn't like it:)

She gets called Kate, Katie, Kat, Katherine and Lulu!

Op dd2 is going to be Bethan, nn Beth. Dd1 is Anna Sophia, so I would definitely vote Beth Sofia. Excellent choices! I agree that Elizabeth feels like a totally different name and I don't think it matters if a middle name is popular.

LouisaB1990 · 09/05/2015 15:34

Hello
I love kate Elizabeth it's very classy and elegant. I do love the name Beth Sofia too but I do prefer Bethany I think it's lovely. But which ever one you choose both are lovely. Xx

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 09/05/2015 13:23

Kate! Beth just always make me think of the boring sister from Little Women who dies.

MilkyVampire · 09/05/2015 13:20

Hi, my younger sister is named Katherine Elizabeth but for by Kat as a 30 something Art teacher. I have always called her Kate though and when she was little she was Katie. I like Kate as there is a song called I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate" that I like to sing. Also Elizabeth can be Eliza and my sister is very classy and yet boho at the same time. My great grandmother was also called Elizabeth. I guess it may be a classic combo of names though but I like. x

balletnotlacrosse · 08/05/2015 16:47

Beth. Kate is nice, but a bit boring.

Rhubarbgarden · 05/05/2015 22:50

Beth. I like short names too. How about Ruth or Anne?

laurenlhthompson · 05/05/2015 21:29

I like Beth Sofia but I prefer Bethan to Bethany or Elizabeth :)

timelyreminder · 05/05/2015 21:21

Beth Sofia

WildebeestH · 05/05/2015 20:55

We have an Elizabeth who we call Beth. Elizabeth is a family name but we wanted her to have her own identity. People always expect her full name to be Bethan or Bethany but it's not a problem. I think is a strong name and surprisingly feminine for it's single syllable.

littleflick · 05/04/2015 21:04

Beth. Definitely.

Kate is boring and Sophia is a little commonplace.

eggsclamation · 05/04/2015 21:00

I know a Beth whose full name is Elizabeth. I adore it

Box5883284322679964228 · 30/03/2015 21:38

Elizabeth Kate

Introduce her as Beth to everyone but call her Elizabeth. It's a great name as there are so many nick names - bess betsy Betty Eliza lizzie Bea

jusdepamplemousse · 30/03/2015 21:30

I would go Kate Sophia or Sophia Kate.

mathanxiety · 30/03/2015 03:08

Katherine Sophie
Eliza Katherine

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 30/03/2015 00:32

Beth Sofia, but I think Sofia Beth flows better, as does Elizabeth Kate as apose to Kate Elizabeth

JC74 · 30/03/2015 00:20

I love both names as I have a Beth (full name Elizabeth Amelia) and a Katie Charlotte.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 29/03/2015 23:53

Beth Sophia (or I would personally go for Beth Sophie). As others have said, Kate Elizabeth is all a bit royal.

Bethany Kate or Beth Katie would also be nice

calzone · 29/03/2015 22:23

Eliza Kate?

I love Eliza.

But Beth is pretty.

OutragedFromLeeds · 29/03/2015 22:16

They're both really nice, but I'd go for a longer name for both of them. I have a name that can't be shortened and I've always wanted a nickname! It's nice to have one name for friends and one for official purposes.

Elizabeth Sofia would be my choice. If you don't like Elizabeth you could have Bethany, Bethan or maybe Elspeth.

Kate could be Katherine or Caitlin. Caitlin Elizabeth is lovely.

ashesandfire · 29/03/2015 21:51

Love Beth but I am biased as I have Bethany nn Beth
not so keen on Sofia and prefer Sophia spelling
Bethany Kate?
Kate Elisabeth is sweet too, she might get Katie which may be worth considering?

duftlys · 29/03/2015 21:15

Beth

Grannycrabapple · 29/03/2015 21:12

Agree Kate slightly ahead but I do love Elizabeth Kate aka Betsy Smile

ThroughThickandThin · 29/03/2015 20:44

Like them both.

Kate slightly ahead.

BigfootFilesHisToesInYourTea · 29/03/2015 20:42

Kate Middleton is Kate Elizabeth. Technically Catherine Elizabeth. So yes, I would deem it quite Royal Family, given she's likely to be around concurrently with your DD.

What about Elspeth? Or Ella, if you like Bella but not the Twilight association?
