Simple girly irish names

Hi all

Just looking some suggestions on what you all think are simple girly names we are Irish and open to any suggestions!!! Smile

Do you actually live in ireland? I think it makes a difference as obviously people in ireland will know how to prounounce the names, whereas in England / Scotland / Wales they may not have come across some of the names before.

AFAIK Saoirse is prounounced seer-sha, but I'm in belfast and we seem to have different pronounciations to elsewhere in N. Ireland and presumably S. Ireland too.

My favourite is Maebh (Maeve).

Yes, Poison, she was one of 'The Children of Lir'. I read this story to my DS again a few weeks ago, it always makes me blub, it's so sad Sad

Some lovely suggestions here. We both are from Ireland so we really do like these type names. Just so hard to get "the one"

If you live outside Ireland, I would advise avoiding the undecipherable ones like Sadb, Saoirse, Aoife, Aoibheann, Beibhinn, Eibhlin, Cait, ....

Sorcha is my absolute favourite Irish name - if the parents of the one child I've ever met with it pronounced it correctly that is - soh-ruh-kuh?

Also really like Caoimhe, Niamh, Aoife, and Fionnhuala. And Kayleigh but I don't know what the original Irish spelling of that was - Caelie? Caeleidh? Ceilidh?!
