Simple girly irish names

Hi all

Just looking some suggestions on what you all think are simple girly names we are Irish and open to any suggestions!!! Smile

Deirdre is a child of the 80s. There were five in my class at primary school in 1983. And my younger sister is a Deirdre. Not of the Mavis/Doris/Ethel vintage!

Ailbhe is pronounced ail-va.
Saoirse is sayr-sha.
As far as I know the correct spelling is fionnuala.
Not a giant fan of Irish names that can't be spelled by anybody but a gaelgoir but also not as fan of americanised or anglicised Irish names e.g. caoilfhinn or keelin.
How about something Irish sounding but not complex e.g. Molly, kitty, Kate, Annie, that kind of thing?

The Irish pronunciation of Deirdre is much nicer than here in the UK. Its Deer-dra, not Deer-dree.

Orla is my fave, thats what I would have gone for had my bump been a girl.

Manicinsomniac -- YES! It is indeed Soh-ruh-kuh (or Sur-ruh-kha).

I love the name Ailbhe (Alvy). I knew a few in school in the 60s and 70s but you rarely hear the name. Short and sweet and Irish people will have no problems with it.

Fiona is very nice too although not really Irish.
Iona is also nice imo and again Scottish, but would be nice in Ireland.

Yes we are in Ireland. We are in Southern Ireland so people will be well aware on how to pronounce the names. Just so unsure as to what to pick. we found boys easy and are both totally decided on that but girls are so difficult. We do like Aoife but not sure if it's "the one" we like short simple ones but girly. I know it's not irish but just to give you an indication on what type we like. Aoife, Annie, molly, Anna etc just simple girly ones.
