Can I use Violet if our last name also begins with V? Or will it sound really stupid?

Sounds great to me! A lovely and memorable name.

bluewisteria · 14/03/2015 18:33

I think Violet Venn is brilliant!

Sheitgeist · 14/03/2015 18:12

I think it's cool. VV

My DS is a BB.

I love it.

Love Violet too.

I came on to say Violet with a V surname would sound a bit like a book character (not necessarily a bad thing!) but looking at some examples I think it depends entirely on the surname!

I think Violet Venn sounds fine and that Violet itself is a beautiful name.

M1985 · 14/03/2015 07:32

It would be Violet Venn

I like alliterative names, and VV are cool initials.

I once worked with a Val Vincent, which I always thought was an excellent name. I love alliterative names.

squoosh · 14/03/2015 00:26

Some people love alliteration and some people hate it. If you like alliteration you should go for it.

Violet Vance (for example) sounds like a brilliant name to me. She could be a super hero, a private eye, or a rock star. Or even a chartered surveyor.

It depends how cool your surname sounds

Violet Viteli - yes
Violet Vockins - no

M1985 · 13/03/2015 23:34

Our last name is similar to Vaughan. It's one syllable

I wouldn't but I don't like alliterative names. And I've got one (by marriage)!

squoosh · 13/03/2015 23:29

Violet Vickers

Violet Vincent

Violet Vaughan (this works best I think)

All sound cool to me! I do like a bit of alliteration though.
