Celeste

Has the "s" sound of Summer and Seren and is a nature name.

Sophronia · 08/03/2015 23:37

I like Wilfred and Grace.

Pinksuitcase · 08/03/2015 22:28

In a similar situation, we have a Flora, and are stuck for a girls name, current list is:

Esme, Annis, Agnes, Morgan, Rowan, Erraid, Morag, Cecily, Iona ,Amber, Tess

But I do like Seren too.

I like DH Lawrence but I'm not sure about a first name Lawrence. I quite like it - I will shelve it on 'maybe'.

Phoebe is so pretty but a little too popular, I think.

Okay - here are some names I've come up with:

BOYS:

Alexander
Wilfred
Rory
Julius
Sebastian

GIRLS:

Astrid
Summer
Lyra
Cally
Leila

I don't like Caroline much either - it's a bit old-fashioned!

fishfingerSarnies · 05/03/2015 14:50

turquoiseamethyst · 05/03/2015 14:47

I love Flora and Edward!

What about Carenza? (Also spelt Kerensa). It's a lovely Cornish name meaning "loved/dear one". You like Seren, and it has the "eren" sound in it. Also it seems to have the same kind of vibe as Summer!
Plus it's rarely heard. I've only ever met two.

Also, it has nice nicknames: Carrie/Caro/Kerry

OR: Henrietta (Hetty?); Patience; Constance (nn Connie?), Verity?

Agree that Alexander would go very well if the baby's a boy.

turquoiseamethyst · 05/03/2015 12:42

I think Alexander and summer or Seren! :)

Well I feel we're moving forward!

So out of the ones you do like so far, which do you prefer?
Grace
Alexander
Harriet
Summer
(Seren)

Gives better guidance for going forward... Grin

turquoiseamethyst · 05/03/2015 12:29

I only like Harriet from that list! I don't like genevieve as it looks like gene and David and Gareth are like Dave/Gary connotations!

Harriet is pretty but it's quite severe although Hatty is nice. I know I am SO awkward but someone hopefully can name this child!

OP posts:
Thumbwitch · 05/03/2015 12:23

Do you just have Edward and Flora at the moment?

What about Harriet, Gareth, Genevieve, David?

turquoiseamethyst · 05/03/2015 12:15

I hate calliope - I'm awkward I know!

It just doesn't look right!

I only really like grace and alexander from that list! [ grin]

OP posts:
Thumbwitch · 05/03/2015 12:11

If you like Cally then why not go the whole hog and call her Calliope?

What about Hector, Grace, Iris, Autumn, Lysander, Alexander, Helena?

turquoiseamethyst · 05/03/2015 11:16

I already have an Edward :)

I don't particularly want a Scottish name; I read flora was a Roman goddess.

I only really like Summer so far! And Cally but it sounds too much like Kelly, which I really don't like. I quite like Seren but there are lots of Serens here.

James for a boy

I know a Flora who has an Emily for a sister but is that too popular for you?

manicinsomniac · 05/03/2015 09:49

I know Floras with siblings called:

Dominic, Thomas, Polly, Lily, Eloise and Phoebe

I think Flora goes with most names actually.
