So excited but I'm quite sad that I'll no longer be able to discuss names for both genders! DH is of the opinion to wait til we know so I'm turning to MN to satisfy my need to think of both Grin

We have a DS called Barnaby.

My thoughts are:
Girls
Madeleine
Amelia (love but so popular)
Bella (I'm not so keen, it's DHs favourite)
Emmeline (love the nickname EMmie)

Boys
Harry
Wilfie
Oliver

What are your thoughts? Any other ideas to go with barnaby? Thanks!!

Emmeline and Harry both go very well. I also think Reuben and Alexander go well.

DragonsDontFly · 19/02/2015 13:24

I would just like to say I love the name Barnaby. I'm up duffed with a boy and if I was a bit braver I would use that name in a heartbeat.

All the names you've mentioned above are lovely. Good luck for your scan tomorrow.

Notso · 19/02/2015 13:37

I love Emmeline. DH didn't Sad not keen on any of the other girls names.

I really like Wilfie goes well with Barnaby. However it doesn't feel quite like a whole name, and I'm all for using diminutive names.

Harry and Oliver are lovely but so popular they seem a bit dull.

Sophronia · 19/02/2015 13:47

I like Emmeline, and I'd like Wilfred nn Wilf/Wilfie.

CaptainAnkles · 19/02/2015 13:49

Emmeline and Oliver Smile

Bobian123 · 19/02/2015 13:49

Thanks!!

dragons be brave Wink. I was a bit worried about using it as its a bit unusual and quite "posh" sounding. But I know a couple of others and their lives don't seem to have been tainted!!

blondie yes I like Reuben too but DH not keen. He is so hard to please!

notso think I could bring DH round to Emmeline, possibly, but would she spend the whole time being called Emily? I guess she'd mainly be Emmie...

My Emmy is a nickname of EmiliaSmile

PineappleLump · 19/02/2015 21:13

I flipping LOVE Barnaby, and if I was ever to have DS3, that would be his name. He would have Monty and Hugo as brothers :)

Bobian123 · 19/02/2015 22:40

tea I love Emilia-have already flagged this with DH and its a seriously strong contender for me!

pineapple perfect names to go with a barnaby Grin

Well...in less than 12 hours we can at least narrow down boy/girl!

Bella and Harry x

ressyHedMair · 19/02/2015 23:06

Magaly or Romilly for a girl

Gregory or Toby for a boy.

I prefer just Hugh to Hugo

Monty sounds silly to me.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 19/02/2015 23:14

Barnaby is lovely and slightly unusual. I would worry that neither Harry nor Oliver would match as they are absolutely everywhere at the moment. I like Harry very much however.

I wouldn't go for Emmeline. A friend named her baby Emmie last year, and whilst it sounded cute at first, it really doesn't now IYSWIM. Like Imogen, I find the name gets worse the more you hear it/say it Blush.

Sorry to be so negative! As mentioned above, Monty goes very well with Barnaby Smile.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 19/02/2015 23:16

I forgot to say - best of luck with the scan! I hope he or she is fine & healthy Grin.

Tea1Sugar · 20/02/2015 07:58

Come back and tell us!

(And yes, go for Emilia/Emmy if it's a girl. Obvs I'm biased though!)

Bobian123 · 20/02/2015 11:52

Thanks all! It's a girl, so thrilled. I reckon I'll be back soon for further ideas Grin

A girl! Congratulations!

Would have said the same if it was a boy.

You have lovely girls' names on your list. Flowers

Bobian123 · 20/02/2015 12:08

Thanks very much Grin
