Love Astrid.

wobblebobblehat · 19/02/2015 13:25

Prefer Anya but don't really like any of them, sorry...

rosepetalsoup · 19/02/2015 13:22

Maybe someone can help me. I like names that are real names, and not recently made up, but also which are unusual. Unusual, classic names. I feel in a pickle about it (and also am quite pregnant).

I love Aurora - Rory for short Smile

rosepetalsoup · 19/02/2015 13:17

I'm feeling a bit lost. We haven't found the perfect name yet!

Thanks everyone. These aren't our only names -- we have discussed others but this list contains a few A ones we did like with some feasible alternatives. Others we've discussed that don't start with A are

Frances
Dorothy
Leonora
Harriet

Astrid

Not keen on the others

PerryNotCider · 19/02/2015 12:03

Why an A name OP? You know often at school you read your homework in alphabetical order and then the kids further down the alphabet often got away with not doing it.

I'm totally over it over 20 years on clearly Grin

From your list Annabell

BeaLola · 19/02/2015 11:53

I don't love any of them , I think Aurora just makes me think Sleeping Beauty and for some is quite hard to say , also depends on your surname . Would probably get misspelt lots too.

I really like Alexandra for A names as like both long and shortened versions.

Boobz · 19/02/2015 11:45

That should have been Alexandra\Alexa\Alexis

Boobz · 19/02/2015 11:45

Anya I like the best from your list, but not really blown away by any of them.

How about:

Alexandra/Alex

Alyssa
Ariel

?

Notso · 19/02/2015 11:44

If I had to pick one it would be Anya. I don't really like any though sorry.

Marcipex · 19/02/2015 11:41

Athena is lovely

calzone · 19/02/2015 11:41

Ds would have been Annabel. ??

Astrid is too hard sounding.
Not keen on Anya.

Marcipex · 19/02/2015 11:41

I like Aurora but it's a little hard to say, especially if people can't say their rs.

Annabelle is nice.
I'd beware of Astrid only because it begins with Ass......and I know what playgrounds are like.

AmysTiara · 19/02/2015 11:40

I like them all except Astrid, it sounds too harsh sorry.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 19/02/2015 11:37

Other A names:
Arabella
Ayanna
Anna
Athena
Amber
Alice
Aoife
Amara

ButterflyOfFreedom · 19/02/2015 11:35

Anya by a country mile! Smile

rosepetalsoup · 19/02/2015 11:34

If you can think of any other 'A' names I might like based on these then do let me know!

rosepetalsoup · 19/02/2015 11:34

Also nobody likes Aurora - interesting. Maybe I should strike that off.

ThatsMyOnlyShirt · 19/02/2015 11:33

rosepetalsoup · 19/02/2015 11:29

Wow- Astrid is turning out to be quite marmite!
