I love Aurora! It's on my list for a girl. I don't particularly like Astrid, Abigail or Anya. I quite like Annabel - it's on my dh's list but I'm trying to persuade him that Arabella is nicer!

GoulashSoup · 21/02/2015 16:13

I have a friend called Alexia which is a nice alternative to Alexis.

A couple of non A name suggestions:

Leonie
Naomi
Francesca (loads of nice nicknames)

Abigail

But I had never heard of the Disney princess! Do you not think people get their references from all over the place? I first thought of the poem Aurora Leigh or the northern lights. But it's useful feedback.

Love Astrid
Anya is nice

Not any of the others, sorry.

InQuiteAPickle · 19/02/2015 21:26

Annabelle
Aurora and Anya.

I love all three but Aurora is a bit "Disney Princessy".

Showy · 19/02/2015 21:23

Josephine. DS would have been Josephine. Beautiful nicknames (Sephie, Josie, Jo, Phin), classical, not overused.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 19/02/2015 21:16

Agree with the Aurora opinions, I would probably make the wild assumption that someone calling their child that never really grew out of wanting to be a Disney princess.

Aurelia, on the other hand, is top of our list.

cece · 19/02/2015 15:54

annabel or anya. not keen on the others

StayGoldPonyBoy · 19/02/2015 14:56

Aurora is Sleeping Beauty to me, it doesn't sound like a real name, similar to BelleGrin

I like Astrid and Anya. DD is Ingrid because DH didn't like Astrid, and I didn't like his favourite, India, so we kind of mashed them togetherWink

diddl · 19/02/2015 14:53

I like Harriet.

Lucia?

rosepetalsoup · 19/02/2015 13:57

I already have a DD with a name very similar to Matilda - I'm trying to find something that goes but isn't too matchy!
