Basically Rose for a girl or Bruce for a boy.

It's early days but I think I quite like them, thoughts and opinions welcome!!

I can take it

I like both, especially Rose Elizabeth.

PunkAssMoFo · 17/02/2015 22:29

I love Bruce.

Rose Elizabeth is a little staid for me, but it's a fine name.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 17/02/2015 22:11

Rose is a nice , sweet name.

My Grandad had a dog called Bruce.

Thanks perry I'm in Scotland haven't come across too many but then again I don't know a lot of babies! One to keep an eye on as although I'm happy with a known name would necessarily want a possible dd to be known as rose no 3 in a class!

I was in London, but now in home counties. Its very popular in both, even more if you add in the Rosies, Rosalies, Rosas etc. The old fashioned flower names in general seem quite popular e.g. Lily (although they are toddlers mainly). I like them though. And being popular can be better than a name where everyone goes "What?" at

CluelessDil · 17/02/2015 21:59

perry would you mind sharing what region you live in?

So interesting to hear really different opinions, thanks!

I suppose there are no names that would ever get a universal nod but I'm really interested in the reason behind the dislike of names eg bad nick name/ find it boring etc, which will get me thinking Smile

Hope to hear a few more opinions

I clicked because I honestly thought you were choosing between these names for your child, as in "we were going to call you Bruce but you seemed more like a Rose once we met you"!

PerryNotCider · 17/02/2015 21:52

I like Rose but it is very popular where I live, I've met 3 in baby groups, not sure if that matters to you though, a popular name can be nice!

Ems1812 · 17/02/2015 21:51

I like Rose, it's classic & pretty but all I think of when I hear Bruce is the film Matilda...'BRUCE BRUCE BRUCE' & the horrible chocolate cake!

Lunastarfish · 17/02/2015 21:48

Bruce as is great, Rose is meh but at least it's first name and not a filler middle name

Poolbirthx2 · 17/02/2015 21:45

Love Rose for a girl but not too keen on Bruce
