We are not finding out the sex of our baby, so we need names for both a girl and a boy. Our shortlists are:

Boy:
Tristan
Quentin

Girl:
Emily
Celeste

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Vixx, thankfully we all have different tastes! Would be dull if we all chose similar names Smile.

I too know a little Tristan as well as a baby Quentin (and lots of Emilys aged 8-14). Don't know any Celestes though, lovely name.

VixxFace · 11/02/2015 18:51

All terrible. Quentin is atrocious.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/02/2015 18:48

Why is Tristan becoming popular ? Have had two babies born of work colleagues named this in the last few months (big office)
Quentin is very famous five
Celeste is gorgeous

Katie2489 · 11/02/2015 18:47

I know a Tristan with very sweaty hands so don't like that one. The rest i think are ok.

PunkAssMoFo · 11/02/2015 18:43

Don't mind celeste (but it does remind me on the contraceptive pill), but prefer celine.
Emily is fine if a little dull.
Prefer Quentin of your boys names.

evamummy · 11/02/2015 16:07

Tristan - ok but tristis is latin for sad
Quentin - love this, reminds me of illustrator Quentin Blake
Emily - nice classic name but very widely used already
Celeste - like this a lot, unusual and pretty.

tammytoby · 11/02/2015 15:59

I like them all apart from Emily which is a little dull (perhaps I've just heard it too often). Really like Quentin and know a lovely 5 year old one, it seems to be becoming more popular.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 11/02/2015 15:52

I like all of them, except Quentin. I think that's my issue though, as it just makes me think of grumpy Uncle Quentin from the Famous Five!

skifanatic · 11/02/2015 15:36

All lovely names. I'd pick Quentin and Celeste - classic but not overused. Tristan perhaps a little too similar to triste/sad?

rachel234 · 11/02/2015 15:30

I like them all (we have a Quentin too Smile) apart from Emily which is a little overused (I think it was THE number one name for girls for a number of years recently).

bienemaya · 11/02/2015 15:28

I like them all, but my favourties are Quentin and Celeste! Lovely names.

youbethemummylion · 11/02/2015 14:11

I like Celeste but Emily is a bit everyday compared with the other names. I think Quentin depends on your social-economic background. In the working class area I live in it would seem out of place. Tristan is ok but doesn't really appeal to me.

ChippingInGluggingOn · 11/02/2015 14:07

Boy:
Tristan
Quentin

Girl:
Emily
Celeste

It's like a game of 'Pick the odd one out' Grin

I don't like any of them, sorry.

Pandora37 · 11/02/2015 14:04

I like both your boys names. I LOVE Celeste but seems very different to Emily, which is everywhere and I've never met a Celeste.

reuset · 11/02/2015 13:38

I don't dislike any of the names. But it depends on what you want, Celeste and Quentin would be the more unusual choices. Tristan and Emily also fine but safer and more popular choices

seaoflove · 11/02/2015 12:05

The only one that stands out to me is Emily, because it's so much more commonplace than the other, more unusual names you've chosen. So I would choose Celeste over Emily any day Smile

Fattycow · 11/02/2015 12:03

I like them!
