suggest boy's names please

As they do not work with our surname or big brother's name, I can't use:

Jude
Fabien

I quite like Daniel but not enough...
Now I'm stuck!
Ideas appreciated.

Adam and Ben I like, but just as much as Dan... something to think about.

I really like Nate, and Nat, but can they be short for anything other than Nathan/Nathaniel?

For some reason I want to have quite a traditional (or at least 'old'/ well established name on the birth certificate/ school register.

I like Amos, but it sounds a bit 'foreign' (we have no heritage abroad, but strong Welsh/ Cornish heritage and strong links with France). I don't want to sound toooo trendy or try-hard.

I like Ned but I think I know a few too many (I'd use Edwin as the full name)

Sorry, trying hard to express myself without meaning to offend!

Oh yes, similar to Jem - I love Jeff (Jeffrey), but my husband won't have it.

I love Douglas, but is it too Scottish?
Nat for Jonathan is fabulous, but now realised Nat will not work in our family either!

One syllable names which can be longer on the birth certificate.
French/Welsh - good!

Like but can't use:
Nat (Jonathan)
Fab (Fabien)
Jude
