Loving the suggestions on the Coolest Boys Names thread.

What cool girls' names are there out there that askew the tread towards traditional names?

It makes me think ottilie bottilie.

I don't think French names sound half as appealing in a non French accent.

okeydonkey · 07/02/2015 17:20

Ag love otillie

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 07/02/2015 17:13

Ag not Og Smile

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 07/02/2015 17:12

Don't like it Og sorry.

squoosh · 07/02/2015 16:37

Hester is okay I suppose but I certainly wouldn't classify it as 'cool'. Far from it in fact.

ag123 · 07/02/2015 10:29

What does anyone think about: Ottilie
I completely adore it but DH says he hates it :-(

rumbleinthrjungle · 07/02/2015 10:18

Hester is a beautiful name, and one with a long history which is lovely. Real English rose name. Hettie as a short also very pretty!

Lux.... Will probably be known as Persil in the playground. Calling a child after a packet of soap flakes seems a bit mean. Although I suppose there is plenty of scope for siblings named Ivory, Pears and Imperial Leather.

Ham69 · 07/02/2015 10:08

I also love Hester, particularly the nn Hetty. Gorgeous. How very uncalled for Vixx

VixxFace · 07/02/2015 09:18

I agree pp some of these names are bad! Hester is awful.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 07/02/2015 08:30

Lois I love Hester! I know a 1 year old Hester and it suits her down to the ground.

DropYourSword · 07/02/2015 08:23

Magenta

SoupDragon · 07/02/2015 08:20

Some of these arent cool, they are just plain daft!

I don't think there's such a thing as a cool name TBH. Put some of these names on a shy child and there is no way they will be cool.

geebie · 07/02/2015 08:20

Blahia Jo Wiley had a Coco Lux!

My 6 week old dad is Aphra, I think that's pretty cool Wink

Thelovecats · 06/02/2015 15:06

Loislines I love the name Hester :)

squoosh · 06/02/2015 13:25

Me too, I love non-frilly names.

TempsPerdu · 06/02/2015 13:25

Clio is awesome (prefer this spelling because of the Greek muse connection, despite the car issue!). I have a thing for O endings.

Come to think of it, I must also have a thing for N endings, as I also love Wren (and Rowan, and Merryn) Think it's an anti-girliness thing, as I'm not a fan of princessy names.

MsMittens · 06/02/2015 13:16

Good link sqoosh - lots of great names on there.

I like Clio/Cleo but my MIL just called her new cat Clio (darn it!).

I like Wren a lot....
